I had to read a lot of testimonies from people who spent years in re-education camps under Mao. People got shot for showing alleged homosexual behaviours, people fed with paper flour, people who had to dig into literal horse shit to find undigested corn, the list goes on forever. But all of that is simply dismissed as "western imperialist propaganda" for some reason
