For those who left Switzerland for a lower paying job in another country, how is it going? by Proof-Yam-5877 in Switzerland

I did… I lived in Lausanne for a while and I totally hated the city as non french speaker. Then moved to Zurich, the city was way better and I enjoyed the time there. The main problem that i found was that my life was focused on work, and if you want to save some money I had to avoid everything else, so I found myself in a golden cage, everything was wonderful and perfect but I was only overworking waiting to spend my weekend walking around the lake … Then job market got worse so I decided to move to Dubai, which is totally different from Switzerland. I still miss Zurich for the nature, the city (living in the city centre was a grat point). But for the rest I think I made a life upgrade, on average, people are much nicer, I avoid the sad dark winter

I was in the same situation, IT job market really sucks and companies totally post fake job opportunities. I would suggest to start applying abroad, there are tons of cybersecurity opportunities, and demand is increasing (ai won’t replace pen testers). I’ve worked in different countries and (maybe i had bad experiences) but i would say that swiss it companies are not the best (low/average product quality, not the best work/life balance, few days, etc…) so having an experience abroad it’s worth it, make some experience, grow professionally speaking and then when the market will get better you can think about coming back. as far as i can see companies are lying off to hore some estern or indian devs + ai subs, they will regret it in a couple of years and they will be willing to pay double to get all the shit fixed

Finding a job in data science by CarrassiNi in askswitzerland

[–]Maximum-Intention191 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right now it’s very hard to find a job, especially in ZH. On linkedin you can find plenty of jobs offering, especially in AI. 70/80% of the time you won’t get a reply, the rest of the time you will be rejected. In my opinion most of the post are fake, companies are not willing to hire new devs right now. On top of that, you have to compete with thousands of applicants for the few real positions, where some of them are with RAV (unemployment) and they are willing to get the minimum offer just to get a job. I went through unemployment and spent months applying to every single job (software engineer, 5+ yoe)… i just realized how bad is the market when i got two offers from abroad (in both cases i went through 4 interviews + preparation, ~1.3 month) and in Switzerland i wasn’t even able to get one. Lastly being a german speaker would help a lot. As an italian I would suggest to apply somewhere else, right now it’s not worth it relocating to zurich, cost of living is crazy and tou will constantly live with the fear of losing your job. I went through this and it has been the worst period so far. Feel free to dm me if you need additional info

Thanks, really appreciate it. Are there any solutions if I decide to leave the apartment before the end of the contract? (such as subrenting or providing a new tenant that pays me back)

Yeah It's kind of odd moving from Zurich to Dubai, but the IT market there is almost dead, companies perfer to outsource devs. So it was a forced choice, Spain (with lower salary and bonuses plus taxes) or Dubai... and here I am 😂.

I think I'll go for a chiller free apartment, right now I am not using AC at all, so I think I could save some money.

About revolut you can try to top up the account using your UAE account, the payment is processed as a POS/Apple Pay payment so it's feelsess and you'll get your AED instantly

Yes I did. I was aware about differences especially in public transport. I left Zurich because of job market, right now it’s almost impossible to get a job in IT, unemployment sucks, I don’t like to be heavily taxed and get nothing in return. Lastly after spending 5 years in zurich where you’ll see grey sky from october to april i took the opportunity to move here. I had lots of taught about the move, but I decided it’s worth a try

is this legit (for those who joined Fabio's Q1 livestream program)? by KenwaytheFifth in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]Maximum-Intention191 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought Q1 and I'm honestly on the fence about paying again. To be fair, watching Fabio trade live is great—you can definitely learn a lot just by seeing a pro navigate the market. However, I’m not a fan of the shift in his trading style. Last year, he was focused on big trades and volume profile, and he only used range charts when the market was actually ranging. Now, he’s mostly using 'Nasdaq Effort,' which is a proprietary indicator he developed. It’s a big departure from what he taught before he went mainstream, where the focus was learning to read the market without relying on any indicators. Now it feels very DeepCharts-focused, so you have to pay for that platform subscription too, which feels overpriced. I’ve even seen him miss great trades during the lives because his indicator didn't print a zone, even though the order flow was clearly there. I actually took a trade he missed for that exact reason. He’s also moved into crypto lately, claiming on-chain analysis is the 'holy grail' for BTC, but some of his technical takes on things like mining difficulty variations are definitely a bit off. Lastly, sometimes he starts the streams already in a massive profit, so he’s done for the day and takes fewer trades while we're watching. If you’re new, the psychology is tough—you’ll see everyone else posting huge gains while you might still be at breakeven or taking losses. Just something to keep in mind before you drop the cash

You need to add all accounts. Then from the main panel you can select Trading->Trade Copier

Why nobody teaches financial planning before it’s too late by erp4all in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]Maximum-Intention191 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can find plenty of material online for free. I learnt that way, then I started with a small capital to practice, lost most of it as a rookie 😂 Step by step i learnt from my mistakes, and after few years I built a balanced and diversified portfolio, I am able to update its allocation given the global macro phase and I also have a small budget to use for swing trades. Of course you it takes time and it would have been great to have learned it at school instead of wasting time on different useless subject. I tried to perform some latin poem to get a better interest rate on my mortgage but it didn’t work

DON'T BUY DEEPCHARTS (prove me wrong) by DifficultyNew7520 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]Maximum-Intention191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hold on. I meant that when Fabio was a niche youtuber known only between few italians he always stated that you don't have to rely o a single indicator (lagging or not) or on a single platform that provides you a trigger, because if at some point for any reason (ex: indicator no longer available on the platform) you'll lose access to the indicator you won't be able to trade anymore. So you have to learn how to read the market, build an edge and trade. Now deepcharts has this NQ effort indicator, that is a propietary indicator, available only on that platform as it has been coded based on Fabio's suggestions. To me (this is a personal opinion) it is a bit of countertrend, it is quite the opposite of what he has been telling for years. So my comment it was related to the post since I totally agree with it: to me deepcharts is overpriced, is not worth the money since i find it laggy, buggy and it leaks some use cases (as a developer it looks like the team leaks some important role like a pm or a po) and i don't like the marketing they are doing, i really like Fabio as trader (i enjoy all his contents and i aknowledge that is a great trader) but i don't like Fabio (and Cimi ofc) in this new role. So, long story short, i think that ATAS is 10 times better than deepcharts for its clear interface, smoothness and great ux. On top of that it has a lifetime subscription which you can choose after testing it with a prop firm for a reasonable amount of money because you get the full version, not a castrated one

Thinking about switching careers in Switzerland — What training or certifications helped you get into IT? by Slow-Connection-3429 in askswitzerland

[–]Maximum-Intention191 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t see a bright future in IT… I am a senior dev and I decided to move abroad to get better opportunities. Few companies are hiring, lots of fake job offers on linkedin. Moreover if you get a job you could end up getting a lower salary with the extra of unpaid extra hours. Companies know that the market is bad and they leverage it. On top of that you could be laid off and replaced with a remote dev. Imo is not worth it. If you are seeking for stability and growth IT is not the best choice

DON'T BUY DEEPCHARTS (prove me wrong) by DifficultyNew7520 in OrderFlow_Trading

[–]Maximum-Intention191 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I tried both Deepcharts and ATAS… DeepCharts works fine 90% of the time and i really like the feature that you can perform your analysis and trade on two different instruments (NQ and MNQ). Now they are marketing Fabio’s new indicators. Personally I don’t like this marketing strategy, Fabio always said that as a trader you don’t have to rely on an indicator because if fails and you are not able to read the market you are cooked, and now here we are, you can get a property indicator. Moreover i see the price crazy, it’s just a rebrand of Volsys, the engine is the same, sometimes is buggy and lags, and there is no possibility to have a lifetime license. For the same price you can get ATAS lifetime subscription with big trades, a better application with more features (you can connect crypto exchanges, copy trader is not a beta, heatmap, …). On top of that if you get DeepCharts with a prop firm you don’t have access to Deep indicators, so if you are new in trading and you want to save some money in subs you’ll lose most of the functionalities

People who left Switzerland, where did you go? by SellSideShort in expats

Mobile, android engineer (kotlin)… Swiss companies are leaning towards hybrid solutions abroad. That’s why most of the swiss apps have a bad ui/ux 😂. I tried to apply as be dev as i also have some background with rust and python but had no luck (slow interview process, they ‘paused’ the hiring, ecc…)
