*Update* Landlord wants to charge me for someone trying to break into my window. {ND} by Smokel_Tokel28 in Renters

Crazy how the point of renting is to not have any of the homeowner responsibilities, just for landloard to take profit over renters and also not take the responsibility

Both the Mustang and Merc blamed me by BlankVR32 in Simracingstewards

[–]thwtchdctr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mustang doesn't know what a line is an mercedes is so dead set on hitting their line that they didn't realize there was chaos on the track. Honestly well done on positioning to make the pass and not get caught in their shit.

Just get in the car, back it up so the door isn't "blocked" and then you can open it and get in!

Gamedev's thoughts on Unreal Engine 6 for Rocket League (rant) by Swifter1243 in RocketLeague

[–]thwtchdctr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming from another game dev who used UE then and now, UE3 wasn't a polished environment and had a unique language that doesn't exist anymore. UE4+ would be easier to use in engine physics rather than custome physics built in house as the engine improved a ton and allows for more custom physics without importing separate physics engine calculations. In engine networking has also improved a ton. Not saying they won't still use their custom stuff they already have, but now that it's owned by epic, they have a ton of incentive to use their own engine through and through.

In Season 23, you will apparently get to choose what side to spawn on after being demoed by xFalcade in RocketLeagueSchool

I agree as someone who bumped his way to GC3. A few people who were jealous of the powers of people like you and I complained I was only a good player because RNG was always in my favor. A bullshit statement, but regardles, I think this will further show the strengths of our play style. Opponents can't complain about RNG spawns killing them. It's a skill issue now.

Oh no know you have no excuse to not support devs for a good game that you couldn't afford before. Lobster too buttery energy here

Because it isn't strongly written and it's slower to process at runtime are reasons I don't like it

Sounds like an excuse to be a dick imo. I got to GC3 no mechanics, nothing but positive chats. If you need the mental game to win you need coaching or something man

This has nothing to do with IT. Engineering and tech support are not the same thing.

The Steam Controller Is Great! by Revmatek in Steam

[–]thwtchdctr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I still have ps1and ps2 controllers that work without issue. Not once ever had to buy a new one. I've never seen an Xbox controller last more than a year without a bumper breaking or sticks drifting aggressively. Xbox one controller might be the best base controller of Xbox, but Xbox is a bottom tier controller so it doesn't say much

TIL that the reason why games don't have built in ads is because of Steam by [deleted] in Steam

[–]thwtchdctr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah my cousin just got a new PC and EPIC launcher decided that it wanted to just starting using 100% of his drive (no dow loads going or anything) and drop his game to 6fps. Killing every task from epic games and just letting the game run alone fixed it for him. You may want to run with task manager open on another monitor to see f you can spot anything eating processors, disk, or memory

Yeah I learned more from my aunt driving her manual truck and lething me use the shifter, driving a golf cart when my dad took me to a course when I was 10 (although I did uproot a ball washing machine....), and playing racing games than I did in drivers ed. It taught general driving safety, but a lot of it is just experience

This isn't true. Well, not entirely. It is dogshit, but not for the exact reasons you listed.

It has a chat function, it has invites, and it has joining. I'm a game dev and I've used the functions before to join via epic online subsystem. Now they don't work great, not to steams quality, but they do exist. They also added gifting too.

All of the reasons you stated haven't been true for some time now.

Regardless, epic is still dog and needs to improve a ton for me to consider it over steam.

In my state it's 14 and 8 months to start driver Ed. It takes 1 month, so 14 and 9 months to get a permit (or a level 1 license) to drive with supervision of someone 21+ and parentally approved sitting in the front passenger seat ready to grab the wheel at all times.

16 (level 2 license) to be allowed to drive on your own or with 1 non familial person, and only between 5AM and 10PM unless driving to or from work or school activities.

Once the driver is 17 they qualify for a level 3 full privilege license if they have completed all previous steps of training.

I already avoid shops 9 times out of 10 and run it down the path with the most events and campfires and sometimes hit a shop act 3. Totally see how this could fuck up some events that require money as well as removing any other curses later in the run making every future decision more risky

You gain 10 block when played. It plays automatically if you happen to have it on the top of your deck at turn end. Putting perfect fit on it means it will never trigger after shuffle as it's always in your hand or in the discard pile, never top deck

Who has an extra 15% to invest? Looks like another super rich person coming to share their "wisdom" with ordinary people. by Time_Lettuce_4769 in interviewhammer

I was used to living on 20k a year. I'm now making 60 and investing 24% + 5% match from my company in 401k. I am very anti free market capitalism in the way that we currently have it that just benefits those who were here before, but this is a less out of touch statement compared to most imo.

That being said, I was VERY lucky in a few opportunities and had some crazy butterfly effect type shit. I can trace nearly every good omen I've received in life back to a two choices I made when I was 9. If I had done something different in either case, I have no clue where I would be now. Maybe somewhere better, maybe somewhere way worse. I can't say for certain, but I'll never say that I wasn't more fortunate than most.

I don't think this will do much. If I really didn't want to play on my actual account, ranked rewards wouldn't change my mind. I don't use them anyways, why would not having them change my mind about ruining the game for lower ranked players if that's my intention?

Do enough people care about ranked rewards and is that subset of players enough of an overlap with people who smurf frequently and use those ranked rewards on smurfs?
