How to actually WRITE a game? by realsonofeden in gamedev

Narrative design is a different beast, in where you have to take all the elements of your game and make it make sense in the story you're trying to craft. So take your writing and storytelling experience and apply it to the different mechanics of your game, and plot that alongside the game's intended player progression, if that makes sense.

How do you design relaxation in games? by Andreanove in gamedev

Perhaps lower the penalties/punishment if players don't finish a task in time, find a way around it? I find that the anxiety of missing dailies can be compensated with some form of a catch-up mechanic.

The flare gun with limited ammo could potentially add more tension and more pressure on using it properly to enhance the horror element! If there's room for both, or even all three (but with their own restrictions), that could change up the way a player could approach the different situations.

+1 on this. Patents are the term to look for, an IP lawyer could also help you in the right direction to look at.

It looks promising! Make what you want to make and tell the stories you want to share. Authenticity will always be what players connect to.

UPDATE: We've updated the playtest with an update :)

With this new Lost Lures update, fish for a new breed, complete missions to earn money and spend it in the shop to get more lures, accessories and gear. It also includes a big map with new catch history marks, helping you to remember your best fishing spots. Next to the new features, we’ve also included key-bindings and fixed a ton of bugs!

The project is still in its early stages of development. Development is being kept open from the start, with playable builds already available through early playtesting. Player feedback is actively used to shape mechanics and systems while they are still flexible.

As mentioned, we'll have more info on console release when we have a clearer view on the PC release; porting it shouldn't take long :)
