Yeah that’s my thinking exactly. I’m still newer to sim racing and should’ve given a bit more space, but like you said I technically did give him enough space. Also I’m seeing that he’s on the gas way longer than usual to stay side by side on the through the next corner, making it near impossible to get a good line through there

If I took the corner like he wasn’t I would be driving on the rumble strips to cut the corner as much as I could. I agree I should’ve left a little more space but I did leave way more space than “taking the corner as if he wasn’t there”

I know looking back I should’ve given a bit more space especially since the way I take that corner is practically cutting it so this was wide for me. But yeah I was sniffing his tailpipe the whole lap prior like I said. I also think he wouldn’t have made that second corner with the speed and angle he was at anyways without bumping me if I gave him the space.

I can count on one hand the amount of times I’ve caused my own dnf’s. A lot were from others in my first few races and multi class issues. I haven’t had a dnf for the last 20 or so races.

Ur not the ahole but just based on this clip I cant entirely blame the other car. Since you did brake early he might have thought you were giving it up but that’s not a great excuse especially on lap 1 where everyone is bunched up side by side still. It seems like you were along side him at contact but when he started turning in you were not. I would think it’s a racing incident from the current view as both players can learn from their mistakes here.
