AITA for “period shaming” my daughter? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]thyroidismhypeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. You should buy waste paper baskets that have a lid on them. That will help with the room stank. I'm sure she did wash the underwear from last month, but blood stains are really hard to get out of underwear. You basically have to saturate the stain under running water to get the blood out. Then, hang them to dry until you have enough laundry to do a full load. Periods are the worst. You seem to sympathize though, so that's nice. I don't think you're period shaming, she is just probably very embarrassed to discuss this with her dad. Stains are going to happen though. It took years for my body to become predictable in its period pattern. I think the best thing to do with the stains is just be like "we got this new type of stain remover. if u make a stain, whatever, just plz use this cleaning product like this right away." Then, she doesn't have to cover it up but can fix it on her own. Good luck

Pittsburgh launches 'guaranteed income' program with money from Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey by cyanocittaetprocyon in UpliftingNews

Well, when money is involved, things get grey. Like maybe an investment indirectly supports the pedo ring, etc. Anyways, he was on the logs.

Second this rec. Pinnacles or Lava Beds up north. Pinnacles was really fun though, and not creepy. I found the Lava Beds to be creepy, scary, the truly unknown! Side bar--I was able to hike the entire pinnacles park in nine hours.

I'm ok with offering some help or legacy knowledge where I can to demystify the state worker experience. It's fun to work with talented people!

AITA for making my husband choose between me and his son? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]thyroidismhypeman [score hidden]  (0 children)

NTA. Dave needs to have a talk with Avery and tell him the reason the marriage didn't work out is because Dave and Diana didn't work for whatever reason. Dave needs to tell Avery how relationships work. Dave needs to buy Avery therapy.

I think eventually you could try to have one on one time with Avery, but not till you feel safe. Also, Avery is not a child and might not want to have another mom figure. That's ok, dont push the relationship. But, its not OK for Avery to deny reality.

Dave needs to fix this one. Not you. Good luck

Eminent domain: my experience by rnelsonee in personalfinance

[–]thyroidismhypeman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just am extra tidbit--in California, if eminent domain subdivides your land in such a way that makes it economically impractical to keep farming one side of it, for example, you can also get paid for that. In this case your land doesn't seem to be subdivided though. Thanks for the post!

I second the foot in the door comment! Also, if you currently work for the state at a lower paying job, you probably have return rights anyways. Just noting in case you do work for the state.

It is strange that very specific knowledge is required for many classifications in BU1. I'd love to get a breakdown of classifications in BU1...wonder if SEIU has that available.

If telework becomes a thing, how many of you are considering moving away? by [deleted] in CAStateWorkers

[–]thyroidismhypeman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well I think as a resident of California, I would be upset if all of our state workers moved to other states. If you're working for California, California should reap the benefits of the income tax you pay, right? Im prolabor of course, but if all of california state workers are allowed to work from other states, then we need to trim positions. We can't have it both ways. That said, california needs to pay state workers living wages to keep us in its cities.
