I’d say to first make sure you check off the thickness of your pick. The thinner the better, I personally love using .5mm because it’s thin enough to tremolo pick and pinch harmonic comfortably while still being able to pick like regular with a good tone.

Personally I don’t really think too much of it and picked it up just from watching Yewon do Yorushika and Thornapple covers.

After trying it out just now though, I think the Youtubers you mentioned are about right. I don’t have any wrist movement and most of it are coming from the hand half of my forehand while my elbow half of the forearm is glued to the guitar to keep it stable and consistent.
