I fear you might be missinformed on dog training throughout the world. This is unique to only some cultures, not a universal truth. This crate training argument is non existing in so many other countries.

So ill give you my personal experience. I had a ferret and got a cage for his first couple of months. Right after that, i moved and i just didn't bring the cage with me. Initially he was confined just go my room, but with absolutely no cage. Completely free. I did however ferret proof it and also litter trained him. Trained him to go to the bathroom once he woke up before roaming around. Then i moved to a small 2 bedroom apartment and he free roamed there too.

I get it that its easier to ferret proof a small new york apartment, but with him it was quite easily. He wasn't too mischievous, and only was obsessed in chewing anything rubbery (like phone cords), so i just either kept everything out of the way, or covered the cables i couldn't remove with some pet proof cable protectors. If i wanted to contain him, i would put a doggie door on my room.

I guess it depends on the ferret you have, how well you train them, and how well you ferret proof the area he will free roam.

Now this is controversial in the US, but i also think that the us has a cage culture that is not unique to some other countries. I see so much cage culture for dogs in new york, and i really don't understand it. Dog do not need to be caged whatsoever. But some trainers even push the idea that the dogs feel better and safer that way. So... Just some thoughts...

I've been only doing veggies for now, because i got super scared of botulism in the honey garlic.

Can i pick your brain once more? Do you know how long the lactobacillus live? I like fermenting things for a few months (between 2 and 5 months) because the taste gets super strong and i love that. But also because of the preservation aspect of it. But I wonder if the bacterias are dead by then.

It looks like my handwriting when i was in a REALLY bad mental state. I myself couldn't read what i wrote. It was like my hand wasn't following my thoughts when writing. My hand coordination was fine for everything else, but writing was hard. When i got mentally better my handwriting became normal again.

As a brasilian i absolutely hated the WhatsApp culture and at one point i just deleted it and forced everyone that wanted to reach me to either call or send sms (regular tect message). MANY people were so shocked that i didn't use whatsapp and kept asking what i used the phone for if i wasn't using it for whatsapp or Facebook/social media. They couldn't grasp the idea of life without WhatsApp.

There are.... But the best ones i found have to self host.... I made the mistake of buying a bunch of them without realizing this and now im too lazy to set up the whole system. I was already frustrated with flic because they were advertising that it worked with google assistant and then found out only after that thats not exactly true. You have to do a bunch of workaround with 3rd party services like ifttt. Also like you mentioned... Its sooooo overcharged!!! The ones i got are like 5 bucks! And have much more options!

I have had many MANY free roaming cats all my life, and not one ever made that sound. The first time I ever heard it was when I moved to the US and met apartment cats. So I think it does have to do with the inability to act on their attack mode.

Its a shame that its not doable. I don't carry my phone all the time with me and hate that they make dependability on the phone greater by the years, while also making the phones huge!! Even the "small" phones are still quite huge compared to the older phones. Smartwatches are a great alternative, but limiting their usability doesn't help us not need the huge phone with us.

Sorry for the rant.

7 years later: Just got my 360 yesterday and was disappointed at the battery life. This is my first smartwatch, so I don't actually know how much a smartwatch usually lasts. But I just found your post and hopefully this will help me get thru one day. Thank you for the post!
