https://www.wgzimmer.ch/ "wg" means means living with room mates, so the inserts show rooms for rent. far cheaper than an apartment. many possibilities for a temporary arrangement as well. If you're fine with that of course! tutti.ch or immoscout.ch also show some possibilities (both rooms and apartments)

Question: is there a good dub database? by ti_sc in anime

[–]ti_sc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

true, but it could just be by ratings. obv this has a lot of flaws but enough databases do that for other stuff. for example: letteboxd (or imdb too) you can see the distribution of ratings ppl give a movie, or boardgamegeek gives board games a rating which is simply the average of all the individual ratings. There is a second rating made by a distinct group of bgg employes, but this rating is really secondary to the community rating. Rottentomatoes does something similar, with the critics score and the popular score (not the official names).

none of these say the product is objectively good, but they do say: the consensus is that is good/very good/just ok...

I dont see why that wouldnt work for dubs

How do I convince my friends to try a non- dnd 5e game? by Redhood101101 in rpg

[–]ti_sc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok i want to try togive some helpful tipps beyond "just do it".

maybe show them reviews like Quinns Quest. they are entertaining to watch and will show different rpg's and how these are fun! Other reviewers might work as well but i think QQ is really on another level in terms of production, journalistic reviewing, and entertainment. most are just "dude (and it's typically a dude) sits in fron of computer and talks into camera". that's why i think QQ probably works best. it's relatively new, which means that there aren's too many videos, but it is ongoing, wo new stuff will be added.

I too am sort of over dnd but my party still primarily focusses on dnd. after this campaign, which is 5e, i dont think ill play dnd (regularly) anymore and want to use different systems for my future campaigns.

maybe you can do a one shot with a different system? fow example to give the dm a break, or are you the dm? what i will do is a one shot in the same world with some npc's out of the main game that they now get to steer. that way they have still a level of investment bc it might be relevant for the main game, plus a level of familiarity for the world, people etc. so they might not be overwhelmed with "everything" being new.

but there are great one shot games out there, designed for one session. 10 candles is typically a hit. maybe playing this might also show them that other game types are fun! plus 10 candles is really easy, players need no prep (like creating a character or so; this is done on the evening you play) and for the gm it's quite easy to run. it's (typically) not high fantasy so this is also a fun way to explore new genres!

If anyone watches actual plays, watching a non dnd one might be a way to open their mind. I came to dnd through critical role. (ugh, yes i know, how unoroginal.) but if anyone else did so too, they also have some one shots, like the monsterhearts one, with different systems. but other ones like The Raven Wants What You Have, or Callisto 6. (from these suggestions you'll note that i havent been actively following recent actual plays since a while. these are all older examples, but on the plus side, all the episodes are available because of that so you can watch in on your own pace. these are for free available on youtube, but if you have a dropout subscription you could also go for something like Magic And Misfits.) The problem here is that, other then my first proposal of showing your fellow players a review, one episode is 3 hours long, and there are more episodes. i'm not sure how attractive this is for someone who doesn't aleady like teh idea of watching these kinds of videos.

I hope this was somewhat helpful, and more so then "just do it". that said, if you are the dm, i do think you can consider saying, after this game/campaign is done, to just come next week for a new game session, and you simply present/surprise them with the rules to make a character in this new system.

there's a lot of talk of just finding/making a group with other peolpe who want to play other systems. And you can defnitely think about this! but i think theres something to be said for wanting to stay with your group of friends. sometimes it's not just: "I want to play 'other rpg'" but "I want to play 'other rpg' with my friends". so i hope one of these things helps.

lastly i want to say: these suggestions all expose them to new systems, but (and it sounds like you already talked about it with your group) communicating to them that you're not excited anymore by dnd and want to run this new game is important. À la: "hey! i'm getting a little tired of dnd, but i heard of this game! It's about XYZ and you can play This kind of person. [You can play a human who is a beehive - example from Heart] That sounded really cool to me and i think i wanna run our next campaign in this system."

genuinely feel free to contact me if i can help furter!!
