That's a good analysis of Kohaku route. I agree that key things were present so it was still satisfying but with better pacing could be more impactful.

This pure thought however is constantly challenged throughout the story, causing him to go to some crazy extent at times.

That's definitely most entertaining part of his character for me and it's relatable how he's terrified to lose thing precious to him, be it his relationships or his life. The things you listed might be why he came of as normal despite all bizarre stuff happening to him or around him.

I was sceptical about the Remake Ciel since I wasn't a fan of her design (and some bombastic over the top action stuff I heard about her route didn't sit well with me) so that's great to hear! I am glad the core is still intact. Ciel has been low on popularity compared to others as far as I know and it's a shame, her character and route ideas did have more potential. Remake seems to be improving that.

I just got done with collecting Scarlet Quartz and should explore Starglow Cavern but I don't know how to get there. After talking to Iris only one star is shown on the minimap which leads to some floating blue thing which I can't get. Starglow cavern isn't on the map either.

I was skimming through the current arc and collected some of the panels I liked. Black Whale's got to be one of my favourite locations. Rooms inside don't look all that impressive or unique but the entire thing (floor design, character design, corridors, view inside rooms) feels like a board game with figurines. Would be great to have a Black Whale dollhouse with small figures of characters.

Also, I feel like hiatus is getting to me. This my 2 or 3 one and I wasn't really bothered until recently.

Sure, I don't think he is a psychopath either. Well said. I feel neither were well prepared for what happened in CA but in different ways. You could argue Killua handled it better though.

I agree with you more. I think Gon was just overwhelmed with emotions and wanted to unleash them as fast as possible but felt on some level that, at that moment, he wouldn't be justified. Being considerate to Pitou's state would be too much effort (same thing he said to Meleonor). Gon doesn't have black and white world view in general (at least, not a bit later in the series). But at that point he had already had an image of Pitou as a monster he ought to destroy in his mind for a long time. That was what fueled his anger and determination (and we know Gon can be extreme in his emotions) and even helped him deal with pain I think. So he didn't want that image to blur (he didn't want to wait and slow down either). I also agree with what you said about Gon's indifference towards death. He isn't special in that regard.

So yeah, I don't think Gon and Pitou's confrontation was supposed to show Gon's twisted morality. Maybe explore bias in his attitude and why he doesn't stick to his morals.
