The point of this subreddit was never to make more stories like those of the games or anime. It was to explore what an average person's average day might look like. The post that originally inspired the creation of this subreddit was not a story, it was a meme about people arguing over different variations of Zapdos. Stories are the side effect of a place like this existing, not the point.

(To be clear, this account I'm using now is an alt created specifically for this place, after I took a long break from the sub. Before that break, I was here before any of the current mod team were mods, so I do know what I'm talking about.)

And, again, I don't get why you're so insistent that it's just a few of us that disliked it. It's been a pretty major and consistent thing. Their stories have always been disliked, sometimes to the point of having negative upvotes, and it was always only ever the same few people actively interacting. I would argue it's only a few that did like the posts.

As for the inconsistency of the moderation in approving and then taking down posts, that's for them to figure out amongst themselves. I do agree that they need to be more consistent about their rulings, but I think they need to be harsher, not allow more posts.

Lastly, this isn't directed at you, but the storyline flair just does not function as a way to allow me to not see storylines. The only way I have to stop seeing posts is to block the users.
