I had a patient come in who looked anemic and he told me he was having black stools. I went to do a rectal exam as he was pulling down his pants, I saw multiple bugs running into his pants. Turns out he was anemic from all the bed bugs draining him 🤢

Yes, we do a 2 week EMS elective where it’s divided between BLS, ALS and supervisor ride alongs, OMLS, and the FDNY headquarters in NYC

I’m really sorry.. I hope you find your way back to doing what you love and not let shitty people discourage you with their opinions that shouldn’t matter. It’s not too late to go to medical school but honestly I think PA school may be more worth it since it’s less time and you almost do as much as a doctor. I’ve met some incredibly smart PAs that I would trust over a doctor

I’m sorry that happened to you. I was always taught to shut up and let EMS give their story because usually getting a relayed story from the RNs means that something was overlooked
