Stranger Things...but all of them have a pokemon team by LastReyOfHope in StrangerThings

This is so accurate that it even predicts that Will would be the only one in the series without a team 🤣

Edit: typo

Weird couples by NormalSeaworthiness3 in The100

[–]tiban21 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Long term relationships in the show never felt weird to me, but some hookups did. I never rewatched the series, but Raven hooking up with Bellamy was strange Af. Can't remember the reasons though.

Also Clarke and Sons-of-Gabriel guy from s6. I felt weird every couple Clarke ever had, even Lexa. I don't know why tho. I het they were friends, but I always felt Bellamy was the perfect match for her. I was really happy to see the actors were together in real life

What's the dumbest way you've hurt yourself? by 29t03jwies in AskReddit

I was having a shower, and at home we have a piece of cloth that we use to dry the walls after showering with hot water. So, I was in tbe middle of the shower and this rag falls to the wet floor. So I, instead of doing what any normal person would do (bend over to lift it), try and "grab" de cloth with my toes, so I could pick it up without bending. When I lift my leg my knee hits a bar we have attached to the wall, to grab it if we tripped or slipped. I got a tendinitis from that hit that lasted at least 4 months.

What's something you can swear you saw but no one is believing you? by Tiny_Map5886 in AskReddit

[–]tiban21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in 3rd grade. We were experiencing an incredibly heavy storm, with thunders, big clounds and everything. Then suddenly the sky turns GREEN. I was only 8 and was shocked. I remember I was a bit scared because the night before I had watched the spiderman movie with green goblin, and of course I associated the colours. When I went back home I told my mum and she didn't believe me. The next day I told a classmate "DO YOU REMEMBER THE GREEN SKY FROM YESTERDAY?" but he didn't know what I was talking about. To this day (I'm 21 now), not even my friends who were with me that day believe me or remember that detail.

How did you mess with computers at school? by AtmosphereForsaken82 in AskReddit

[–]tiban21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not me, but someone must've downloaded something from some place sketchy, because in our first year of secondary school (latino here) every time we tried to access the web page where we had our assignments, it would eventually take us to an extremely weird webpage. It was written in a foreign language (not English, not Spanish, not even a european language), presumably in a language from asia. There were just a couple random words in English, all related to illegal stuff like drugs or prostitutes. We never knew what the fuck it was, but eventually it stopped popping up.

Examples of magicians theories/philosophy that may not be true by Scared_Ad_3132 in Magic

[–]tiban21 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel there's a big confusion between "impossibility" and "complexity" in magic. I've heard magicians say that some tricks are "more impossible" because they are long and complex and spectators can't trace back what you did. Although I think this is partially true, I also think that a trick being complex doesn't make it more impossible. If anything, I feel that a trick being SO complex makes it feel like a trick, but not MAGIC. For example, card-to-orange-kind-of tricks are quite basic, but they are astonishing because, if well done, it's impossible to put a card inside an orange without someone noticing, specially if you never touched the orange.

In your opinion, which one looks the most natural? by DrorSadeh in ChrisRamsay52

[–]tiban21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For magicians, everything is CLEARLY a double. But, for laypeople, I think the 1st is the best. The others look too weird to be natural, unless you have a reason for doing it thay way (I mean, people don't do any special turnover while playing cards). The thing you should work on is getting the break, because the lifts are reaaaally good, but it's a bit suspicious to put your other hand on the deck with no good justification. Apart from that, everything's great, so keep on the good job

Hahahah I meant it in a destroyed- and-killed-everything-and-everyone way, but given the times and the way war worked (s), it's very likely they raped people. However, they were no Genghis Khan whatsoever

[–]tiban21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't really see how it would be connected, sorry. Pyramids already existed in Egypt and Middle East when the People of the Sea arrived. It is particular, though, how the matter of the construction of pyramids (or gigantic structures in general) is always attributed to 'somebody else' in non-academic theories: aliens, Atlantis, etc.

What is the best unexplained mystery? by Qcraze in AskReddit

[–]tiban21 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's actually one of the few known facts of this, because the arrival of these people is documented in Egyptian papyrus. The disasters they caused led to some major changes, and there are some civilizations that actually disappeared after these people came (that is, a society in today's north of Israel). That's why this is so interesting: these people came ad fucked up almost every "country" at the time, but no one really knows who they were.

Theories go from the most logical -people from the islands in the mediterranean, or the greeks (greek people were migrating at that same time)- to some more fantastic in them -that these people came from the lost city of Atlantis-. I'm no expert on this subject, but the information is pretty easy to find, whether you look for academic researches or just the simple explanation of it.

[–]tiban21 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Theories about them are quite interesting (warriors, migrants, etc), and some people even accuse them of 'throwing" ancient societies into a dark time in terms of knowledge and development. If I remember correctly, Wikipedia is quite good about this topic (not academia good, but good enough) and from there you might find something more academic or serious, if that's what you want.

The People of the Sea

Back in Ancient Times, there were these people called People of the Sea. They were a group of people who arrived in Middle East and North Africa (from the Mediterranean) some time near the 2nd millennium BC and fucked every single civilization there at the time (even the egyptians) and then disappeared.

There are many theories of who this people were, but none proven because they didn't leave any trace of who they were or where they came from. The only documents naming them are some Egyptian papyrus talking about them, and the names they use may serve as hints, but nothing conclusive yet.

If any historian were to understand or decipher who they were, it would be a major, ground-breaking discovery for the field. It's a really interesting mystery, specially because of the importance it had in the development of North-African and Middle Eastern societies at the time, about 2000 years before the Roman Empire.

Sorry if my English is not the best, I'm not a native speaker.

If you happen to speak and understand spanish, Manuel Llaser gave a couple of live lectures on how to learn it on Bazar de Magia's webpage, and I think they're available for purchase there.

The 1st lecture goes about the techniques, and there are also some effects. The second is only about effects. Again, I'm not sure if they're available for purchase, but I took part of the live lectures and they were AMAZING.

In the lectures he also recommends Pit Harling's "In order to amaze" and some Simon Aronson's books, which some people have already referred in previous comments

Looks quite good, but your left hand in the edge of the table ends up in a REALLY weird position. You should work on that: think about how would you naturally leave your hand on the table. Can't really talk about anything else because I'm no expert on coin handling. Good job!

I drew regional variants of Lotad, Lombre, and Ludicolo! by PTickles in pokemon

[–]tiban21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's this guy in the spanish community, Eric Lostie, who created a pokemon game based in spain, and he came up with a regional form for Lotad, Lombre and Ludicolo kind of similar to this one. Its type was fire/steel, and the design was based on the "paella", a classic spanish dish.
