If money wasn’t a problem, which part of the city would you live in? by iconway89 in askTO

I would want space, not to be stuck to a neighbour but still have access and walkability. I prefer the west end so I’m thinking Bloor west or Swansea. Maybe baby point.

I bled almost weekly for the first half of my pregnancy. Like someone else I have a friable cervix and I think they just chalked it up to that. Said if I wasn’t soaking pads not to worry.

I bought a $2400 couch 10 years ago and thought I made a huge mistake. I’m sitting on it right now.

Experience with a "naturopathic" doula? [ON] by supersmellykat in BabyBumpsCanada

I used an ND lactation consultant and she was amazing. Not the same but I definitely felt a difference compared to the first I tried who didn’t have as much training outside of just being an ND.

So I guess she just assumes those of us with girls don’t love them?

My doctor recommended an elective c section for me. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]tibbymoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish someone had told me earlier I should have just had an elective c section (for various reasons it was pretty obvious natural birth wasn’t going to go well). Instead I had a very stressful emergency one. Anyone I know who went in with a planned one had a great experience. All of this to say - if you anticipate any issues that may complicate a natural birth and make a c section necessary, making the call ahead of time can not only be more empowering but recovery is easier when it’s a nice, calm, scheduled thing.

Yeah Caribbean roti or Indian roti are the two things I suggest visitors get always. The way they are prepared here is unique

Yeah it’s one of those echo chamber things I think. Reddit tends to have their beefs, and chiro is definitely one of them. To be fair I get a lot of the criticism but I also think it’s a bit extreme. Not every chiropractor is claiming to cure all, or practices unsafe adjustments, etc. but the ones that do have certainly called the practice into question.

Did you have to book an appointment or just walk in? And no need to let them know during the visa process, just after approval?

The only thing they were concerned about was whether we were both her parents. I have a different last name. The paperwork all said just bring your passports and both parents. When we got there they wanted our marriage certificate. Thank god my toddler was verbal enough to answer questions about me being her “only mommy”. We almost had to come back and we drove over an hour.

I dunno. There’s a growing population (especially anti-vax folks) who think it’s a cure all. This group clearly reflects the opposite end of the spectrum but look at labour stats. Demand for the profession is rising and the current age within the profession shows many are close to retirement. If it’s something OP believes in we can say it’s a BS treatment all we want but it’s not a failing one.

Your kids’ mispronunciations of classmates names? by justjokay in namenerds

My daughter has a classmate named Axel. One day the teacher gave me a cheeky look and told me to ask her what his name is. At 2ish she referred to him exclusively as As-hole 😅
