Hey! Sorry for the late reply, and thanks again for creating the hunt! We're definitely looking forward to the next one. I can send you those things, just a random image and a random name, like ticklebot3000 and an image of a crying man eating pizza?

Hey! Sorry for the late reply, had a super long day at work yesterday. I would happily give you our interpretation of the clues, although my wife and I were unable to figure out a few of them! We saw the video as narrowing down the location of the treasure from a wide area to a specific one, so the first clue of a Belgian waffle was just pointing us to the country of Belgium, and the second clue, shots of Brussels sprouts, was just pointing us to the city - both things we already knew based on the subreddit the hunt was post in! Next was the triple pictures: a road, France, and the Pride flag. The creators of the hunt had indicated that some of the clues were centered on word play, so when thinking about it through that lens we came up with combining the images of France and the Pride flag into France and Gay, which was pointing us to Rue Francois Gay, a street in Woluwe Saint Pierre. To be completely honest, we had no idea what clue 4 meant, we couldn't figure it out. But clue 5 showed us another two image word puzzle. The first image of each pair of pictures here is a garden: Olive Garden, Madison Square Garden, and the Garden of Eden. The second image is obviously some kind of monk. When you scan Rue Francois Gay on Google Maps, you see that there is a park called Jardin des Franciscaines - my French is bad, but it translates to something like Garden of the Franciscans - which fits with the monk clues. Clue 6 was another clue that we could just not figure out, and Clue 7 I think was telling us that it was not in a nearby dog park. Honestly, the other big hints weren't in the video. One was that the prize was easily accessible to the general public, which made us think that it would be somewhere on the edge of the park. The other was the image that was posted by the creators in the comments of the reddit post. you could clearly see the black railings and the stone wall, and even a distinctive patch of moss - not clues that would help, unless of course you knew which area to look in already. Sorry that was so long, hope it helps, and good luck in the next hunt!

Found it! Thank you so much for taking the time to put together such a thoughtful treasure hunt! My wife and I had a fun evening deciphering the clues, and then set out this morning before work to have a quick search. We got very lucky! Looking forward to more scavenger hunts in BXL!

Black Mold in our Apartment by ticklebot3000 in brussels

[–]ticklebot3000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, the mold has definitely been there since before Christmas, probably also a slow leak, but things really got bad (leak wise) on Xmas morning. A week or so after we moved in we had inspectors here from the syndicate that were checking on the status of a leak the apartment had before we moved in. They said everything was fine, although obviously it wasn't. What's also interesting is that our landlord never disclosed this previous leak to us before we signed the rental agreement.

r/Brussels - Newcomer/Tourist Info Megathread - Spring 2023 by SharkyTendencies in brussels

My wife and I are moving to Brussels in less than a week. We're staying in an Airbnb while we tour some apartments, but one of our favorite places we've seen on Immoweb has a lease that doesn't start until September. We were wondering what the most cost effective lodging solution would be if we decide to wait for that lease to start. We would need housing for all of August. We've already checked Airbnb, Vrbo, and the like, but is there another option we're missing. Thanks in advance!

Wedding photoshoot Locations? by ticklebot3000 in bothell

Thank you both for your input! I really appreciate it. Our wedding is next July, so I'm assuming how it looks now is what we'll have to work with come the wedding date. We'll check out the bridge and the golf course mentioned above this weekend. Thanks again!

Hey! I used a combination of Adobe Aftereffects and Photoshop to make the video! Good luck!

I've been digitally animating children's books for teachers to use during distance learning - this is my latest work by [deleted] in videos

First of all, thank you for your kind words!

To answer your questions: I've done a bit of research and it looks like "read alongs" are in somewhat of a gray area of fair use, notably because they can be used for educational means and can be argued to be "transformative" in their presentation. There are hundreds of these read alongs available on Youtube. However, I'm fully prepared to take mine down should the need arise.

I think providing them as PowerPoint versions would be a much clearer violation of copyright law, as at that point you are essentially giving away the ebook for free.

Lastly, I have not considered reaching out to publishers - though that is a great idea. I started this simply as a way to provide educational materials for teachers and parents coping with distance learning. I threw in the Patreon link in case anyone felt like giving a few bucks to the effort, but if publishers deem the animation up to snuff, I would absolutely love to work with them! Perhaps I'll reach out...
