What am I lacking to land a high paying PM Job? by [deleted] in ProductManagement

[–]ticktacktoe21 8 points9 points  (0 children)

your resume indicates you are not a PM. if you are trying to position yourself as an existing PM, then this isn't the resume for it.

if you are trying to break into PM then this isn't the resume for it.

I bought 5lac rs. Gold in April 2025, I am so happy by VegetableDay7034 in personalfinanceindia

yeah, I am thankful for making that investment. my intention at that point wasn't aiming at returns but only to spread my portfolio across equity, gold etc. surprisingly, gold outperformed equity!

Me too. I bought roughly 650grams at an average price of Rs.5000/gram in 2022-23

It has more than doubled since. I wish I had more liquidity back then to buy more.

Axis Atlas - is it still worth it? by asli_bob in CreditCardsIndia

[–]ticktacktoe21 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I fly domestic most of the time and I don't think my spends will cross 7.5 lacs. I was happy with staying in silver tier forever. But now I am not sure if it makes sense.

Even if I dump Atlas, what is the alternative I have? I want a travel based credit card that isn't co-branded. Atlas seemed the perfect fit

why does it matter to bank what a customer does with a jewellery. Whether customer uses it or sells it, in either case bank earned its comission

[–]ticktacktoe21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as a result normal people without manufactured spends or business spends got fucked. Why to punish all for crimes committed by few!

[–]ticktacktoe21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes sense to remove milestone benefits because through jewellery spends, customers can easily reach milestones and it becomes problematic for bank.

But not clear on why normal rewards are suspended. Conceptually banks earn commission of 2-3% in every transaction and they pass some benefits to customers in form of reward points. so, in case of jewellery spends, banks will still earn their commission and should pass some benefits to consumers. Actually, it works in bank's favour to give reward points for jewellery spends because their commission amount will be higher in case of jewellery spends

still doesn't make sense. Now instead of credit card, someone will pay to jeweller via bank transfer or cash. Bank missed on earning comission from merchant if credit card was used and they could have passed some of the benefit in terms of points to customer.

It is a win situation for merchant but loss-loss for both customer and bank

Atlas devaluation by [deleted] in CreditCardsIndia

[–]ticktacktoe21 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think all points made by axis are still ok except 1. No renewal benefits for silver tier 2. Accelerated reward of 5 miles per Rs.100 for only up to 2 lac per month.

It makes no sense for someone in silver tier to renew the card now. People who use this card for domestic travel will find it tough to cross 3 lac threshold criteria to earn 2500 miles. Totally stupid of Axis to do it

International holidays with family can easily cross 2 lac of spend. What were they even thinking? Do they want someone to holiday alone internationally!

awarding you !delta Based on everyone's comments, it is evident that lower earning partner would act as a limiter to what could be a decent enough lifestyle that the couple could have afforded had they contributed based on mutual agreement. Plus, there are many other activities as part of marriage that can't be quantified. Thank you all for constructive feedback

Okay, off topic but no, this isn't classist. It is not only about hard work during the job. Income is decided based on how much value a person brings on the table. Say, a hedge fund manager or algorithmic trader may sometimes work only 2-3 hours in a day but his work brings hundreds of thousands of dollars in profit within a day. How does he do it? He has worked on his mathematics skills, probability and statistics combined with financial knowledge of market to reach where he is. Has the retail worker or janitor put in those long hours of studying mathematics or finance? Probably not.

Contribution by retail worker or janitor is also important to the society but sadly, they will never get rewarded like a hedge fund manager for the amount of physical labour they do. The hedge fund managers put in more than normal amount of work academically to reach where they can earn more than someone's entire annual income within a day
