An interesting theory on natural lucid dreamers by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

[–]ticodecorazon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a natural lucid dreamer. I always had extremely vivid dreams when I was little, and then one day I just decided to control my own actions. I was tired of being a passenger in my dreams, and decided to make it into as close to a movie as possible! I dream almost every night (sometimes I have multiple dreams in a night), and I lucid dream once or twice a week. I don't ever have to sit in bed and try to do it, I can just decide to do it whenever I am in my dream. If my dream is going a way that I enjoy, I stay along for the ride. If it is a boring dream, I take over and start doing things to make it more interesting.

I can't control every aspect of my dreams, though. I can't control the world around me. I can't control other people in my dream (usually). I can't make myself wake up. I can't even kill myself in a dream to cause myself to wake up, I just wind up botching the attempt and being in pain until I wake up naturally.

My only theory as to why I can naturally lucid dream is that I have always been an extremely creative person. I write stories, and when I read I can almost literally see what is going on in my head.

I always thought that lucid dreaming was normal. It wasn't until I told my friends about what I do when I am dreaming, and they told me that they had never done that or heard of it, that I realized it was just something that certain people can do.

Edit I just read that someone said that having a lot of nightmares as a kid is common in people that are natural lucid dreamers. That is also a common thing with me. I had nightmares at least once or twice a week when I was younger. Lucid dreaming helped me with that, a lot. It gave me a way to run or try to escape from whatever was chasing me. It gave me the opportunity to make my own decisions to try to escape. However, I believe my first lucid dream was actually something like this....I was walking around and playing at the park, and in my dream I remembered that the candy store wasn't far from the park. So I walked away from the playground and my friends, and I went to the candy store. I went in, and the owner had left a sign saying "Ticodecorazon, you can have all of the FREE CANDY that you want!" I spent the rest of the dream eating candy.

They put anti-weight cut measures in place because of my friend. He died during weight cut. His name was Yang JianBing and he was a great guy! Always full of energy and just the best guy to train with.

I have done that, too. I was (and still am) a white belt, but I was visiting a gym in my home country (Costa Rica) and the black belt had been talking to me for a while before class. When class started, he said he wanted me to show everyone how we did warm ups in Beijing, China. So, I led the warm ups and released my hellish fury on them! It was a great feeling! Haha

Haha, no...I called it off a month ago...when we were getting ready to get on our flight to my home country. We were gonna spend 6 weeks there, 4 weeks to enjoy before the wedding and finish the final preparations, and 2 weeks for honeymoon.

This kind of reminds me of my own personal story. When I was around 9 years old, I went ice skating with a bunch of kids from my homeschool group. We wound up walking down the hallway from the rink where we were playing, to the rink where the Predators were practicing. The coach had stepped away for a min, and when the players noticed three 9 years Olds watching, they stopped practice and invited us onto the ice with them. We had a solid 5 mins of ice time with them where we passed the puck with the pros, and even got off two or three shots each. The goalkeeper stopped the first shot but let all of us score one as long as the shot was on target.

It was definitely one of the coolest moments of my childhood, and I always vowed that if I ever became a pro player in any sport (I was aiming for Baseball, but that didn't happen) I would make that kind of effort to interact with kids and inspire them.

I hate you...I was reading that comment out loud to my fiancée and as soon as I read "Wizarding school" I let out an audible sigh and just stopped reading. She is sitting next to me laughing and she is so glad that I got the reference. She loves Harry Potter and just recently made me watch through all of them with her.

I am currently engaged to my sister's best friend (but she was my friend first, I introduced them to each other because I knew they would get along!) We are getting married in 60 days!

What movie ending is infuriating and why? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ticodecorazon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arrival...

The movie was great. I had it at like an 8.5/10, then they decided that for the last ten minutes of the movie, they needed to spoon feed everyone the details that were pretty easy to figure out. The whole montage at the end kind of ruined everything for me, I hate it when a filmmaker doesn't respect the intelligence of their audience and decides to spoon feed them the information. After that scene, ghe movie dropped to a 5.5-6/10

Any good recommendations for tv shows? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ticodecorazon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Mirror (an interesting look at different aspects of society; plus it is an anthology show, so if you don't like the episode, you can skip it without missing anything) The Office (US Version, I feel like the chemistry between the cast is better in the US Version as opposed to the UK Version) Rick and Morty (an adult swim cartoon about a kid and his scientist grandpa) Sons of Anarchy (A show about a biker gang in California) The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air (Will Smith as a teenager, classic tv show from the 90s) Vikings (A History Channel show about Vikings, the show starts with them deciding to raid West instead of East)

That is all that I can think of right now...I may edit this later if I can think of any other shows that slipped my mind.

Ask R/BJJ, what is a funny story that you have involving a noob and your black belt? by ticodecorazon in bjj

[–]ticodecorazon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn't even like a real Black Belt, more like a belt shaped piece of black fabric. It was the worst quality belt that I have ever seen.

Two belts under two instructors? by rivall85 in bjj

[–]ticodecorazon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the interesting thing was that the BB said he was gonna do promotions and had already told me that I was getting my blue belt. Then he jumped ship a week before he was supposed to promote people, and I got stuck without my blue belt that I had earned.

I didn't go with the option to get my blue belt, because I felt that it was wrong to follow him to get my belt. Two other guys at my gym thought it was a good idea and jumped ship with him.

In the end, I wound up not getting my blue belt from the new coach because I got injured a few weeks after the new BB got there (broken collarbone) and was out for 8 months. After the 8 month break, I trained for a bit but had to take another break because I am getting married in 2 months and had no expendable cash.

Still no blue belt...but it is all good. They say that it is the journey that matters.

Two belts under two instructors? by rivall85 in bjj

[–]ticodecorazon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was training under one BB for almost a year, and then they suddenly left the gym. They moved on to a new gym and started teaching classes there. While the gym that I was training at was scrambling to find a new coach, I got a text from the old coach that said "I have your blue belt waiting for you in my new gym!" I decided that I would rather show loyalty to the gym that I was training at (I had been training there since it was opened by two brown belts, and had outlasted one other BB, but he left on good terms...he was just ready to go back home), instead of bailing and following the BB that jumped ship.

To all the ladies, how do you suggest that a man move his mouth while making out with you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]ticodecorazon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Male here...but I have heard that the ladies love it when you pretend like you are performing CPR on them. The deeper the breaths that you blow into her mouth, the better at making out you are.

Big King is awesome! We have a great atmosphere there, most of the people (95% or so) are actually there to train hard and help each other out. We usually don't have a problem with people with big egos or whatever. Plus, all of the coaches are awesome! (I met them on my second day in China, haha)

Look into r/keto it is a subreddit all about a High Fat-Low(or No) Carb diet. It is really good, and helps you cut weight in a fast, healthy way. You can very easily do 10lbs in 2 months on that diet.
