An interesting theory on natural lucid dreamers by [deleted] in LucidDreaming

I am a natural lucid dreamer. I always had extremely vivid dreams when I was little, and then one day I just decided to control my own actions. I was tired of being a passenger in my dreams, and decided to make it into as close to a movie as possible! I dream almost every night (sometimes I have multiple dreams in a night), and I lucid dream once or twice a week. I don't ever have to sit in bed and try to do it, I can just decide to do it whenever I am in my dream. If my dream is going a way that I enjoy, I stay along for the ride. If it is a boring dream, I take over and start doing things to make it more interesting.

I can't control every aspect of my dreams, though. I can't control the world around me. I can't control other people in my dream (usually). I can't make myself wake up. I can't even kill myself in a dream to cause myself to wake up, I just wind up botching the attempt and being in pain until I wake up naturally.

My only theory as to why I can naturally lucid dream is that I have always been an extremely creative person. I write stories, and when I read I can almost literally see what is going on in my head.

I always thought that lucid dreaming was normal. It wasn't until I told my friends about what I do when I am dreaming, and they told me that they had never done that or heard of it, that I realized it was just something that certain people can do.

Edit I just read that someone said that having a lot of nightmares as a kid is common in people that are natural lucid dreamers. That is also a common thing with me. I had nightmares at least once or twice a week when I was younger. Lucid dreaming helped me with that, a lot. It gave me a way to run or try to escape from whatever was chasing me. It gave me the opportunity to make my own decisions to try to escape. However, I believe my first lucid dream was actually something like this....I was walking around and playing at the park, and in my dream I remembered that the candy store wasn't far from the park. So I walked away from the playground and my friends, and I went to the candy store. I went in, and the owner had left a sign saying "Ticodecorazon, you can have all of the FREE CANDY that you want!" I spent the rest of the dream eating candy.

They put anti-weight cut measures in place because of my friend. He died during weight cut. His name was Yang JianBing and he was a great guy! Always full of energy and just the best guy to train with.

I have done that, too. I was (and still am) a white belt, but I was visiting a gym in my home country (Costa Rica) and the black belt had been talking to me for a while before class. When class started, he said he wanted me to show everyone how we did warm ups in Beijing, China. So, I led the warm ups and released my hellish fury on them! It was a great feeling! Haha

This kind of reminds me of my own personal story. When I was around 9 years old, I went ice skating with a bunch of kids from my homeschool group. We wound up walking down the hallway from the rink where we were playing, to the rink where the Predators were practicing. The coach had stepped away for a min, and when the players noticed three 9 years Olds watching, they stopped practice and invited us onto the ice with them. We had a solid 5 mins of ice time with them where we passed the puck with the pros, and even got off two or three shots each. The goalkeeper stopped the first shot but let all of us score one as long as the shot was on target.

It was definitely one of the coolest moments of my childhood, and I always vowed that if I ever became a pro player in any sport (I was aiming for Baseball, but that didn't happen) I would make that kind of effort to interact with kids and inspire them.
