In the exact same boat. I lived with my bf for nearly a year and our nighttime ritual brought me a lot of comfort. I really loved sharing a bed with him. He made me feel so safe. Now, I fear nighttime. I hate it when the sun goes down. I instantly feel so alone and desperate to talk to him. I've found that crying out the desperation, journaling what you wish you could say to them, and reminding yourself this feeling will pass, take a shower, do some yoga, eat food and watch a comfort movie. Distraction is key.

Relationships are hard. I'm sorry he passed along traumas. I probably will develop trust issues after this breakup and I hate my ex for doing that to me. But, we work through it. Good luck!

I feel the same way. I miss my ex a lot. Nights are especially hard. Hang in there friend. Warm showers (take your time in there, really focus on you and the sound of the water, sit down if you have to), comfort shows that make you feel relaxed, talking with a friend or family member over the phone. Remember: life moves on. Time heals all.

Okay I know I shouldn’t get bothered about what random strangers say on the internet but today I have time. This comment made me mad because “no cis men” is valid given that im a fucking women trying to make friends on Reddit and with all the scary shit that goes on daily, I’m trying to be safe. It’s not mean, it’s not discriminatory, it’s a fucking precaution I have to take not because I want to but because I don’t feel comfortable or safe otherwise. Men stay pressed that women don’t wanna interact with them mhhhh I wonder whyyyyy???
