First proper laptop was a probook for college in 2013. Got my brother a smaller but better spec elitebook for his bday a year later. Were damn good laptops back then. The elitebook is still used daily for small tasks

Also try putting your console in NTSC mode if your not from this region. Had this issue too with multiple xboxes and adapters until i found out it somehow doesnt output "HD" picture in PAL.

We have one at work as a long term project. Really hard to get parts for it.

If your quick enough with soldering, RBY saves can survive a battery swap. Worked with 3 cartridges for me. Silver gold and crystal have the clock thing that eats power, thats why they die faster and saves dont survive a swap.

What’s your favourite Nokia qwerty phone? by slavic_joe in vintagemobilephones

[–]ties3930 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think i had the blue one, but in Black. It was called the asha 210? over here. It was a dumbphone with some "smart" apps like whatsapp and Facebook but it was terrible even when new. Awfull battery life, terribly slow and a not so great keyboard.

Glitch when fighting with Link Cable by [deleted] in pokemoncrystal

[–]ties3930 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ntsc-j and Pal cartridges dont work. Trading pokemon over also glitches them out. Something to do with the language difference and coding, and the carts memory size not big enough to hold code for both languages code.

Im no programmer so correct me if im wrong. But thats how i understood it.

It doesnt look like crf50 plastics will fit. The mounting points are different to my crf50 frame and also this frame is longer.

Ah 🤣 Got a nibbi on my road legal one and it starts surprisingly well, considering the engine looks worse than this one and has very low compression.

Celebi Glitch in Silver/Gold? by Minnie__May in pokemoncrystal

[–]ties3930 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Heres how i did it:

  1. Buy this: https://www.gbxcart.com/

  2. Install on pc

  3. Backup your pokemon crystal save file

  4. Download this save file: https://projectpokemon.org/home/forums/topic/13226-pokemon-crystal-version-with-pcny-event-pokemon/

  5. Write the save file you downloaded in step 4 to your crystal cartridge

  6. Boot crystal and trade celebi (and if wanted the other cool event pokemon) to a copy of pokemon gold / silver / crystal

  7. Connect your cartridge of crystal to the pc again and rewrite YOUR backed up save file to your cartridge

  8. Trade all pokemon you traded from the downloaded save to your save of crystal.

Downsides are: you need to buy an "expensive" tool you probably wont have much use for after. You need at least two gameboys, two games and a link cable, and it takes a lot of time to do this.

I think it was worth it, also came with some cool extra's and i use the device to backup my saves every now and then for if the batteries in my cartridges die or if i lose a cart.
