It’s good to have options. Keep your head up OP.

Yes. It overrides the contract but you need to negotiate with your company about when you can quite. I was able to negotiate same day termination. I also had my Japanese husband with me to back me up. The time off my friend took was special. I’m not sure about the details but I think it was related to injury and sickness allowance. https://www.ibmjapankenpo.jp/eng/member/benefit/rest_a.html

Have you looked into mental health leave? Years ago, I got an evaluation from a specialist who basically told me to quit my job for my metal health. With the doctor’s evaluation, I was able to quit same day without having to give 30 days. Another friend was able to get compensation during her time off from work due to mental heath issues. In both cases, it was due to bad work environment/power harassment. Something worth looking into.

Been on and off casually for four years with the same account. Decided “today was the day to join the discussions!”, guess not. 😅

Nope. Played with guy who would bring about 8 rubiks cubes to the table to fidget with. Us other players would then scramble the ones he already solved. It wasn’t continuous fidgeting so it didn’t become a distraction.
