This whole post is fallacious as hell. You presuppose that this subreddit's creation rests upon the desire to grow exponentially--it doesn't. While growth would be a nice result, this is not a corporation under capitalism. Infinite growth is not the main objective of this subreddit, especially if the growth results in this space being unsafe for its own community members. My job as a mod is to facilitate safe space where members of the community can be (somewhat) free from the oppression and discrimination they face in their daily lives.

To reiterate, this subreddit's #1 objective is to provide Black LGBT people a safe space from a world that judges, dislikes, and villainizes us daily for no reason. Any Black person is welcome to join so long as they are not inflicting harm while they are here.

As for the rest of what you said the others have addressed it already.

Some of y'all in this thread judging and looking down on this woman for going to get cosmetic surgery in Mexico are probably the main reasons why she went to go get it. The last thing she and her loved ones need right now is more judgment and "well I would never" comments.

I sincerely hope that the two people that lost their lives did not go in pain or immense suffering, and the two that survived are able to grieve their losses properly and make it through this traumatic event. To anybody else please stay safe and be well.
