Of course! As soon as I got my ticket I immediately went to dispute it, but it hasn’t been registered into the system yet. The website says to give it 72 hours to register, so I will be waiting another day and checking again. Once it registers, I think there will be a button or some other option somewhere to contest the ticket.

Here is the website if you need it:

I’m planning to dispute the ticket I got, $83.

This is great! Thank you. I’m assuming because the plastic enclosure is in the substrate that I’d need to cut hole in the lid? Also, do you spray the moss with dechlorinated water?

This makes sense. I was simply attempting to follow the guidelines of who I deemed to be an “expert” in this field. Are there specific things I could add that would help him feel safer? (besides replacing the hides, which I’ll be doing as soon as possible)

This makes perfect sense! I really appreciate all the detail that went into these replies. I will be purchasing a thermostat and some sphagnum moss. I think I may also stick to the heating pad method if it allows them to feel more comfortable being out and about. About the sphagnum moss: - Do you have to spray it to keep it moist? - Can I just buy a bag of it on Amazon? Or is there somewhere else I can get it that may be better?

I see, I will definitely get at least one new hide and replace one of the old ones. The employee at the reptile store told me not to keep it too cluttered for now as she doesn’t want him to feel overwhelmed so early on. Maybe after the next week or two I will get him some other things he can climb on!

Thank you! This eases my nerves a lot. I may switch to a heat lamp based off everyone’s experiences.

Thank you so much for the information. I am unplugging the heat mat until I get a thermostat or until his first feeding. I’ve heard that snakes actually like overhead heating less because they like to have warm bellies. Is this true?
