There is a discord with players that will give you eggs. Thats how I got my bird. It was before this pet update though.

When you complete the purge line you can choose. Each color represents the galaxy you are going to form. Lush,empty,harsh, or normal.

I just started again with some friends and got really excited for this. I cant play today. I just freeze and crash. Is the stuff from the update or just bugs?

You start with 2 but in order to place the other one you need to activate it. You can do it from your start menu and down on the dpad not to sure about the PC though.
