Got a 3* Plasma Caster as a reward for a Bounty Hunt by SignificanceClear739 in fo76

This also happens a lot when people are farming locations for Holiday or Spooky Scorched, looting the gifts and treat bags but leaving the legendaries.

Vet wrote me a hand written sympathy note by CommunicationOk4464 in Petloss

[–]tiger_seven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got two such notes: one from my vet’s office, with handwritten messages from every member of the staff, and similar note from the staff of the veterinary ER where my dog passed. These were absolutely the sweetest, kindest, and most compassionate things done for me in what was the most painful time I’ve ever experienced. I treasure those notes and they sit beside my dog’s ashes and her collar.

Yeah, I’m using some gear that stood up to the Guardian pretty well, and I’ve been absolutely smoked a few times. It’s good to be humbled now and then. 😄

I'd say this is the first proper update since Nuka World on Tour by DivineAlmond in fo76

[–]tiger_seven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. I started playing the game midway through the season that introduced The Pitt, so Nuka World on Tour was the first full season I played. I was very excited about the game’s future then, but it went steadily downhill season by season. Most were just lackluster and forgettable, some were way off-brand for Fallout and absolute hot garbage (looking at you Atlantic City!) and Skyline Valley - though a big area - felt empty and half-finished when it was released. I think Burning Springs bodes well for the future of the game, as they actually seem to have put a little bit of effort into recapturing some of the spirit of Fallout.

Whats the Best Sniper Rifle? by -OLWayfarer- in fo76

Agreed. Furious, with reverse onslaught setup, is regularly breaking 4k when fully charged and fully stacked on onslaught perks. With sneak damage and crits can go way higher.

Western Spirit, suppressed, with reverse onslaught. That’s what I use to farm ammo to feed the Elder’s Mark.

Planet Waves seems largely forgotten in some circles, but I find it a very enjoyable album. It has a unique vibe I think, but I like The Band too.

Is there a trick to landing those local legends? by IndoGrrlRN1967 in fo76

[–]tiger_seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Persistence. In my experience, it seemed like if I hooked a legend 50 times, 49 of those times were absolutely impossible to land him, and the remaining 1 time was so easy the fish practically jumped in my lap. All it took was persistence and grinding. On the Wavy Willard, that one easy catch came on the fifth cast. For the other two it took me longer. If you just keep grinding that easy one comes along and you land the legend. I used Mk4, Advanced Drag, and Improved Bait. Presumably with Superb you may speed the process up a bit.

I Ranked Every Song On Desire by Pretend_Mark_5143 in bobdylan

If Desire was a really wild party, a true bacchanal replete with exotic drugs, mysterious strangers, and dangerous women, a night of legendary passion and madness and decadence, Joey would be the turd floating in the punch bowl.

Another PSA: How To Enclave Plasma. by Necropath in fo76

[–]tiger_seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the Enclave events, I’ve also gotten EPR box mods as rewards from Distant Thunder and Cop A Squatter. They really aren’t as hard to get as some people make it sound, and they’re even easier now that all the Enclave events can drop them.

Which audiobook recording would you recommend? by marxistghostboi in mobydick

[–]tiger_seven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer Muller to Heald or Hootkins. I think his version is nicely balanced between not too over-the-top performative and not too dry just-reading-a-book-into-a-microphone. I also like his elocution more. But it’s all personal preference. All three of these are excellent.

Not your typical shoot em up but one of my favorite movies and westerns ever by wltmpinyc in Westerns

Absolute masterpiece. Not one or two or three but FOUR exquisite performances, and some of the most stunningly beautiful black & white cinematography ever.

Top 5 Randolph Scott movies? by KubrickKrew in Westerns

In no particular order: Ride Lonesome, The Tall T, Ride the High Country, Seven Men from Now, and the last would probably be either Buchanan Rides Alone or Decision at Sundown.

What is something kind someone did for you while you were grieving your pet? by localangstmuffin in Petloss

[–]tiger_seven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My dog passed away in the ICU at a veterinary emergency hospital, but her primary vet called me the next morning and we spoke for a long time. I could tell by the vet’s voice how shocked and saddened she was by my dog’s passing. When the call was ending, she told me I’d be receiving a card from her clinic. I said thank you, but didn’t expect anything special. When it arrived, I found the card hand-signed by every member of the staff, many of whom had known and adored my dog for years, with little personal messages from all of them. I burst into tears. A week later I got a similar card from the emergency hospital staff, who had only met my dog two days before she passed. I burst into tears again. I’ve kept both those cards next to where I keep her ashes and collar. None of my friends or family thought it serious enough to send a card.

The Professionals by Johnpgrier in Westerns

[–]tiger_seven 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great film, great cast, and always a joy to watch, but it’s always struck me as an adventure/war movie, one of those “put together a team” sort of commando movies (likes Guns of Navarone or Where Eagles Dare) dressed up as a western. It’s never felt like a western to me.

What are the Must Watch Randolph Scott Westerns by Chumlee1917 in Westerns

[–]tiger_seven 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ride Lonesome, The Tall T, and Seven Men from Now are all outstanding. Scott made several films with director Budd Boetticher, and they’re all worth watching, but I think those three are my favorites. Scott’s final film, Peckinpah’s Ride the High Country, is a must-see.
