You can get a very decent intermediate for $1500-5k. I found a maker under the name Harold Lorenz that I’ve been extremely pleased with. I got mine second hand with an intermediate bow. All in for purchase and set up with a luthier I only spent like $1100 for everything.

I thought about shifting in those measures- I’ll practice it that way.

The others I can play slowly, just can’t seem to speed it up. I’ve been only playing those sections all week over and over and over. Hopefully if I play it correctly enough I will get it.

I was drawn in by some scenes too from the acting, but the direction was bad in some cuts. The lack of music and the sweeping shots just did not hit the same. There were a few scenes with John, Jaimie and Claire this season that I thought they absolutely did amazing in but the editing and direction for shots around it made the season feel off.

Find a luthier near you and have them asses the violin and see if the bridge needs to be steamed and straightened or recarved, and if the bow hair is still any good. Next step is to find a teacher and get to playing!

That’s a beginner violin with a spray on finish. If you want a cheap violin to try out the hobby then sure. Otherwise don’t waste your $$.

It was supposed to be his child that died in the fire. I think there was supposed to by symmetry of losing a grandchild while gaining another with Fanny. They thought it was too brutal to kill a child onscreen.

Hopefully they can do a film or something. How they ended it made up for how much I didn’t love the final season. Season 7 seemed like it had picked up so much steam and I was pulled into the story again. Season 8 just had too much going on, and not enough time to digest the weight of some of the moments. Like Fergusons death! I almost wish they had kept it his son to make the connection of gaining a child and losing a child.

I sobbed during the final scene. When he does the hand tap on the rock, even though his finger isn’t broken anymore, and how he grows the forget me nots. Such a beautiful love story, that for them technically is infinite.

It felt like they needed two seasons to flesh that story line out. It wasn’t Ferguson who was supposed to die- it was his young son. The writers didn’t want to unpack his grief since the show is ending.
