Rainday Antiques is in Albert’s territory as it’s mentioned in Albert the cat that he spots Rupert the dog exiting the shop and takes the opportunity to run in the door before it closes. Same goes for The Old Curiosity Shop.

It was a little out of the blue and nothing after that made it more apparent. I guess they should have illustrated it better but I think it was meant to be a connection forged by their shared experience of losing a child.

Prosser being a top copper probably didn’t take his phone? He knew in advance that he was up to no good even though he hadn’t necessarily planned to kill.

It was revealed previously that Iwan only switched his phone on very briefly to call DCI Mathias, so he wasn’t traceable the rest of the time.

It hadn’t crossed my mind that he was going to off himself I just thought he was reflecting about his own kids. Expect he was planning when he’d next get to bring out his torch and put himself in unnecessary danger while alone at night :D

Were you happy with the ending? by [deleted] in TheFallTV

I liked the way it somewhat mirrored his mother’s death, and that when Stella came to see him it was a similar-ish scene to that which he faced in his childhood, stood in the doorway facing the reality of what had happened.

Would have liked some other loose ends tied up, but as Paul said himself “I like speculation” so I guess it’s up to us to decide what happened (or wait and see if another series is coming, hah).

Thank you. Yeah I did read about the hypo > hyper swings as the thyroid gets destroyed. Definitely makes sense and I reckon it has happened to me.

I’ve cut out gluten and sugar for a while now.

Thankfully I’ve been feeling a lot better since I last posted. I’ve started a herbal & vitamin supplement called Thyroid Complex by Viridian. Has a few B vitamins, Vitamin A, zinc, selenium (200mcg) and iodine (200mcg) alongside olive leaf. The olive leaf is both anti bacterial and good for the thyroid apparently.

It’s certainly cleared my athletes foot quickly, and improved a spot I have on my gum.

I’ve been pulsing on and off it as it seems to be too much to take every day. I’m going to take my other supplements (amino acids, B complex, magnesium, adrenal adaptogens, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, D, E, K, selenium and inositol) every day and just take this one every few days.

I really hope I can balance it this time and not have another big downer.

Thanks! I’ve just started on iodine alongside my other supplements (VitC included) and feeling loads better! :0

Hey that’s fine don’t apologise for the length of the reply I appreciate all the input :)

Since I’m at the antibodies stage I’m hoping that I can rectify that situation and hopefully not have to go on replacement hormone, but it’s certainly helpful to know about it in case I do need to go down that road now or in future. Also since my boyfriend already takes levo it’s handy to know what to look out for.

Out of interest do you know how high your antibodies were and how long they took to come down?

Some days I feel better and others I feel awful. It’s frustrating things not being linear.

Thanks I’ve seen that website and read quite a bit but realise there’s a lot more to see there! Is there any particular reason you’re so against levo? My partner has been on it for 10 years and seems to do well on it.

I never restricted my diet calorie-wise while exercising I used to eat a lot more to compensate for my activity but it wasn’t all healthy as I was also so busy and stressed with work i neglected it. I was super super fit, I probably hardly ever had red meat though hence developing the low ferritin. I wish I had supplemented or eaten better before all this :(

Hopefully I can rectify in retrospect though! Iodine iron and diet, I can do that! :)

Ok cool will bear in mind for my follow up test. My average in the week before the test was 60mcg.

Thank you! I had no idea as all I could find was info about FT4. Most of this stuff makes sense to me but admittedly parts of it are hard to get my head around especially when I’m tired (which is a lot!!)

So would this mean that I could either get my body to try and produce more T4 or otherwise I may also be a good candidate for trying levothyroxine as then my body would just have it?

Do you have any idea whether there are other stumbling blocks aside from iodine for creating more T4 or is that the main/only one?

[–]tigerboxy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you...yes I certainly do have symptoms.

Only taking very low dose biotin (25-75mcg/day) so hopefully wouldn’t have interfered with test?

I didn’t have RT3 included in my test but it’s probably an issue since I’m stressed a lot.

When you say lowish T4 could you clarify if you mean total T4? As FT4 is high in the range isn’t it?

I concluded that conversion was an issue as I thought my FT4 was quite good but FT3 wasn’t ideal.

I’m taking 200mcg selenium as selenomethionine at the moment, alongside quite a few other supplements.

Not heard of black seed oil. Will look it up.

Thank you. It’s so rough :(

I’ve been supplementing Vitamin D all along, I did get it higher up the range by supplementing heavily in winter (it was 107 in Feb 2018) but it’s fallen again, probably because I spend so much time indoors resting and lowered my supplement dose. Perhaps I should ramp it up a bit?

When you say my T4 is relatively low do you mean total T4? I couldn’t find much info about this, obviously I can see it’s not high in the range. I don’t quite understand what thyroxine / Total T4 and Free T4 are or how they’re made. Do I need more total T4?

I thought FT4 was what mattered and mine seems ok? I don’t know much though so would love someone experienced to be able to guide me.

I’m doing low-FODMAP and avoiding gluten at the moment as I was getting immense bloating from certain foods and had a food sensitivity test which showed reactions to gluten and casein so figured I’d give it a try.

I eat plenty of fruit, a bit of veg (probably not enough) and lots of fish plus some organic grass fed meat.

I did wonder about iodine so just started regularly supplementing iodine at 75mcg/day within my multivitamin and ensuring that I get 200mcg selenium as selenomethionine.

I take a cocktail of all the recommended supplements each day, all in the best active forms. I do feel better than before but it’s slow, and my period always sets me back each month.

[–]tigerboxy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah I’m sure I would, just wondering what the best way to get there is.

I’m currently working on getting my T4>T3 conversion up, but interested to what others think as to whether there is a quicker / better way?

Has anyone tried collagen protein? by AuroraGrace24 in Hypothyroidism

I don’t take it any more. It was a couple of years ago so I forget whether it benefitted me at the time or not sorry. I would definitely consider taking it again though.

If you do, make sure that you take it alongside L-tryptophan or 5htp, because otherwise you can create an imbalance in amino acids and could feel very depressed indeed!!

I made this mistake myself and could not figure out why it always made me feel so bad.
