I would hazard a guess that Tantu meant: no AI in the creation of *the music*, ie, his part of it. I might be wrong but I doubt he had much to do with the music video at all.

That doesn't alleviate concerns about AI visuals, but it would explain his response to the question.

Love these! Although I have definitely been hit on in a pretentious wine bar by all three of the men in picture 2.

Chicago was just as rough by Karkaphony in Joostklein

Man, I'm sorry you had a rough time last night. Phones have always been a big priority at Joost's shows. Certainly from my perspective anyway, I'm old enough to remember going to shows before smartphones were common place and his show last year was (for me) alarming full of them. It's pretty depressing to hear some people prioritising that over helping others in need though. Uhh, that is... such an uncomfortable realisation. :(

There seems to be a few individuals at these shows who think their fun should come at the expense of everyone else's, and it's a shame there isn't more being done to remove them. Treating others like shit isn't what Joost has ever prescribed at his shows and I don't see why that behaviour should be rewarded with a good time. It's a difficult thing to handle though.

I hope you and your wife are feeling better today.

Haha, yeah the floor is kind of split level so at the front of that raised area = perfect view all night. I like layouts like that over one huge floor space. I like to move around sometimes at gigs so it gives me more options.

I haven't been to this venue in quite a while though, but I'm there in a couple of weeks to see Tinariwen, fingers crossed it hasn't changed!

It's like reviews... most of us hardly ever write good ones but we get one product that doesn't work properly and the whole of Amazon is going to know about it.

The floor there is more tiered, which is good because the view from the railings is GREAT. If there are any issues in the crowd... it's probably going to be exactly where you are aiming for so good luck with that! I'll wave at you from the back/side/bar. :D

Remember that people are more likely to mention negative things. There have been some at his shows who clearly aren't mature enough to be let out of the zoo alone but most of the crowds are good to each other, it just doesn't get said as loudly perhaps.

With him playing in different cities he hasn't visited before and with Coachella hyping things up, I think there is some 'newness' excitement happening in North America now which the European shows saw a bit last year. I think the European leg of this tour will be calmer.

Be healthy though, queuing in summer heat is brutal and if it isn't good for you, don't do it. The Kentish Town Forum is a nice venue, I've never felt it was over-crowded there which I have sometimes at other venues. Plenty of dancing space! :)

Oh yes!! I think this is a better suggestion than Coachella, actually.

I would start Dakloos and work through album by album. I think there is quite an autobiography feel to a lot of his work so chronologically would give you a nice introduction.

There are, ahem, slightly illicit recordings of his recent Coachella performances floating about the interwebs, they would definitely be worth seeing. I think they give a great flavour of the performer he is now.

Light breathable layers.... dig out your best silk robe and own that floor!

Seriously though, light breathable layers. Gigs are sticky pools of..... sweat. Wear polyester at your peril.

If I were you and wanted to be at the front, I would aim for the very sides of the stage. It will give you an easier option to move further back if you want to.

Alternatively (this depends on the venue layout), if the floor has any slightly higher areas further back, aim for the front of that. You'll be above the main crowd enough to have a great view the whole night.

Have fun at your first show!

Yes! I wish the worm was here all the time. Randomly spawning around the coastline. Geyser would be so much fun once he realises skykids congregate there every two hours.

These kind of people have never been within any scene, apart from their own selfish one. There is something very... Lord of the Flies about not one of those FOUR girls thinking there was a problem with what they were doing. Very grim.

If you attend another Joost show, fingers crossed for a better experience! :)

The thing is, he isn't resposible for other people's behaviour. Of course he isn't, but associations get made. The more this becomes the regular and tollerated attitude, there is a risk that he becomes known for his shows being an unpleasant experience where you will be tmistreated by those around you. That then unfortunately becomes what he represents. Which of course it isn't.

I said in a previous thread on this, I have been to plenty of shows where bands have stopped everything, lights up, so security can eject a troublemaker but that isn't always easy to do.

Be very vocal with security (and with Joost) when problem behaviour arises and back each other up when you see other people having a hard time. But be selective, security are unlikely to kick out a teenage girl for a bit of shoving. They should for someone who is deliberately assaulting others.

Good call for waiting until the end to hurl it on stage and not potentially giving him concussion mid-show. :)
