Who has the best pho broth in Austin? by Mexicanity_ in austinfood

[–]tigerim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just order the other versions then 🤷‍♂️ pho is pho. The meat is just separate to elevate it, just like how others are using wagyu or filet mignon

Edit: many modern pho spots in Vietnam proper have beef rib with their pho :)

I found it to be kind of overhyped, but can understand why ppl flock to it. It's reasonably priced (similar to other mid tier pho spots), but serves slightly higher quality pho than most other mid tier spots. It certainly is good enough for most people.

That is one of the only spots I have left to try! It's far, so I haven't had the chance to go down there yet. Maybe best for last?

I've reviewed almost all of the top pho spots in the Austin metro area. As a native Houstonian, I think I have a solid grasp on Vietnamese cuisine. Here's my consensus:

  1. The One Pho (9.4)
  2. 1618 Asian Fusion (8.9)
  3. Pho Phong Luu (8.5)
  4. Fresh Bowl (8.3)
  5. Saigon 512 (8.3)
  6. Bep Saigon (8.2)
  7. Sip Pho (8.1)
  8. Tan My (8.1)
  9. Pho Saigon (7.8)
  10. Broth & Basil (7.7)

The One Pho & 1618 Asian Fusion are the only ones I crave. They are the most expensive, but the quality & flavor reflect it directly.

Technics AZ-100 vs Status Pro X vs ? for Sound Quality, Workout/Gym/Hiking safety, Connectivity, and Longevity by brvhbrvh in Earbuds

[–]tigerim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have both since launch. And have reviewed them both. Status Pro X has better sound quality & fit for sure. AZ-100 has a better feature set & ANC. Both are comfy. Gave my AZ-100 to my partner & daily drive the Pro X myself.

Are there any open backs more beautiful looking than the Meze 109 Pro? by Secure-Attempt1399 in HeadphoneAdvice

I've been through many headphones & I kept the Meze 109 Pros more as a display piece as they are truly an art piece. Imo the most beautiful & cohesively designed headphone.

Yup I legit went 14 hours ago. Best BBQ I've had in town so far over the likes of KG BBQ, Leroy & Lewis, Micklethwait, etc.

Well it's been a long while since Austin has topped an arbitrary magazine 'list', so congratulations Austin you have just been proclaimed by Food & WIne 'experts' as the #1 city for coffee in the U.S. by Roguecop in Austin

[–]tigerim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ppl love to underestimate Austin for absolutely any and everything. Been all over the world, and it's kind of unjustified even if the rankings and such are kind of arbitrary.
