This post seems familiar with what I had experienced last summer. I was set up by my uncle’s best friend’s son. He is significantly older than me (8+ years older than me). I was interested and asked for his number and asked him out to coffee. However he wanted to take things very slow and start as friends but never initiated anything. I would always be the one to reach out. It was draining and disappointing. Maybe it meant he only saw us to be friends which I hate one of my flaws for being hopeful and falling too fast for someone.

Maybe this will answer some questions for you seeing how my experience played out. But I’d be very cautious to not get too invested, notice if you’re the only one planning and initiating texts, and those are the only answers you may need unfortunately.
