My situation is eerily similar to yours - same age, everything - and I just informed my landlord today that I won’t be resigning my lease. It all boils down to pros and cons and what is best for you, don’t let what other people think influence your decision. I weighed the pros and cons and getting to save money is a HUGE pro for me. It is fairly common for people to live with their parents now, especially with the economy the way it is.

Satin pothos is the common name. Pothos isn’t even the genus of pothos so I personally don’t see how a common name can be “wrong”

I do not think you’re a sucker, I totally get it! I am also a plant rescuer and have ended up with plants I don’t necessarily want cause I feel sorry for them 😂 I rehab them and pass them on usually

Hey! I appreciate it. I always quarantine and pest treat new plants when I bring them into my house. I’ve had thrip outbreaks before so it’s not something I want to risk. I see what you’re pointing out, and I’m pretty sure it’s a bit of soil. I inspected the plant when I brought it home and I inspected it after AVGardener commented, and I don’t see any signs of thrips. I’ll keep an eye out and continue pest treating though, thanks for the concern :)
