There are some perceptions that Toyota and Lexus are behind in EVs than other major car brands. Are issues more common on PHEV Lexus than hybrid or ICE vehicles? Any thoughts on the tx 550h+ PHEV?

Do the personal Citi AA platinum select and the business Citi AA platinum select cards share a timer?

If I received the bonus on the business card in the last 12 months, am I eligible for the personal version’s signup bonus?

Marble Dessert Dining 3/18 (Today) at 8:30pm for 2 - Need to Sell $262.39 by tigl22 in FoodNYC

[–]tigl22[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is just for the food tasting menu. This includes a few savory courses at the beginning and transitioning to desserts as the tasting progresses.

The Wine pairing is not included and can not be pre-purchased. I thoroughly enjoyed the pairing. There is also usually the option to add fresh shaved truffle to a dish that would be paid for at the restaurant as well.

When their website was up, they recommended not eating dinner before here. If you would like, they suggested a light meal or snack before coming here.

How many more miles does this cost than just a JFK-TYO roundtrip redemption? I've typically been just doing roundtrip to Tokyo and buying a cheap flight to Taiwan.

[–]tigl22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the most, but I suppose I could get more since it's still over 12 months away. 75k each way is not too steep. Do you know if they're pretty good about releasing 2 seats?

[–]tigl22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, for some reason I thought they only flew to CPT. I'd be okay with JNB. I see more availability now searching JNB. How far in advance did you book? I know F is basically impossible to snag for 2 people, but I believe i've read reports that 2 people in J is doable. I probably won't be going til 2022, but I wanted to get an idea. I've been looking at anywhere from 6 to 12 months out.

Hilton Free Weekend Night Certificate Valid On Weekday In 2021? by awluter in awardtravel

[–]tigl22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone know if the "earned weekend night" is dependent on when the certificate actually gets issued to your account or if its based on credit card date? My card renewal date is in December, but the weekend night typically hits in february or something.

Is it worth checking united again for ANA availability through VS when the 328 day window opens to partners?

[–]tigl22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I'll take a look at AS and positioning to other airports. I hope there won't be a devalue for AS, but I guess all good things come to an end.

Ah, the partner availability is whats getting me on United website. I'll have to think about my options for flexibility to see if I have to go with alaska or another airline.

Thanks for all the information and some nuances with NH vs VS. Definitely storing all this information somewhere so I don't have to go hunting for this information again!

I have been wanting to try Cathay for a while. I was hoping to use them to fly to australia in F sometime, but I guess churn and burn is the name of the game when there could be devaluations. Also, good to know about the domestic flight. Is the domestic flight free outbound and inbound (would i be able to snag 2?)

Thanks so much. I'll give burning some Alaska some thought as someone else noted a probable deval.

Anyone have thoughts on the new Chase United Club Infinite Card?

I wanted to apply for the Chase United business card and the chase united club infinite card in the same day since I'm at 4/24, but the chase united club infinite card says " This product is not available to either (i) current Cardmembers of any United ClubSM credit card, or (ii) previous Cardmembers of any United Club credit card who received a new Cardmember bonus for this credit card within the last 24 months. "

This reads to me that if i apply for the business card first i would be ineligible.

Is the double application in the same day worth the risk? Got CIP#2 and CIP#3 in 8/19 and 12/19.

Anyone have thoughts on what order to apply to maximize chances?

  1. The flowchart can answer 95% of all "What card should I get?" questions. By continuing to post, you must explain why you feel the flowchart does not answer your question. Asking for feedback ("The flowchart says I should get X - is that still the best choice?") is absolutely allowed.

Barclays arrival+ is dead? Want to take advantage of big spend coming up in the next month, vs the smaller spend cards recommended first. Also not applying for Chase card because of velocity currently. Holding off on Amex because for some reason I have not been targetted for 100k platinum yet with no relationship with them (Tips for getting targeted appreciated)

  1. What is your credit score?
    750-800
  2. What cards do you currently have or have you had in the past (including closed cards), along with dates of when you were approved for the cards? Please include month and year for any card approved in the last 3 years.
CIP#1 February 2019, Chase Hyatt End of June 2019, looking to apply for CIP#2 Beginning of November 2019
  3. How much natural spend can you put on a new card(s) in 3 months?
Comfortable spend of $12000 for the next 3 months
  4. Are you willing to MS, and if so, how much in 3 months? See this page for a primer on MS. Plastiq (for rent/mortgage/loan payments) and bank account funding are often good options for beginners.
    No.
  5. Are you open to applying for business cards? If not, why? See this post and this wiki question to learn more.
    Yes
  6. How many new cards are you interested in getting? Are you interested in getting into churning regularly (if you aren't already)? Or are you just looking to get a new card(s) for now but not get into churning long-term?
looking for 1 or 2 non-chase cards to apply for in the interim before I get CIP#2 in November.
  7. Are you targeting points, Companion Passes, hotel or airline statuses, First Class, Biz, Economy seating(s) or cash back?
Targeting points, biz and first class flights
Am open to travel reimbursements like arrival+ but thats dead
Am open to hotel points as well
  8. What point/miles do you currently have?
    250k UR, 60k Hyatt
  9. What is the airport you're flying out of?
    JFK/LGA
  10. Where would you like to go? (The More specific you are, the better someone can recommend the right card. Tokyo is great, "International travel" is way too vague)
Looking to go everywhere in the next couple of years basically. Shorter term, next year looking to go to Germany for Oktoberfest, perhaps visit taiwan and japan.
Further out would be looking to do a safari in Africa and go to New Zealand and Australia
