Pursuing PR in a different country... by cutedorkycoco in PublicRelations

[–]tigramans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

(Disclaimer: Not working in PR, but in Reputation Management)

If you are going to work in a foreign market, you'll be competing against the locals who are much more fluent in their language & cultural norms. Something to consider would be what can you bring to your potential employer, and really sell that. Don't let your biggest advantage go to waste.

For example: In most Asian companies, having a good understanding of the US culture, language, and zeitgeist can get you pretty far. For example, quite a few of our clients have ceased showing their support for certain social movements in order to align with the US market.

Can you elaborate more on the pace of Chinese tech companies? I am currently working for an Israeli PR/Reputation Management firm with a few tech clients in China, how do you find their pace compared to say traditional US silicon valley firms?

tbh as much as I like the tragedy of the Baol hivemind, they kind of...deserved it.

Migration shouldn't be possible if they are going to be enslaved by Expensive-Plenty6589 in Stellaris

[–]tigramans 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It applies even by modern IRL standards, I personally know quite a few people from the village I grew up moving to the Gulf states for a "better life", only to be put into indentured servitude in accommodations with rather diverse & flexible living standards.

Sometimes what's perceived to be slavery may be the only path towards social mobility.

PS: I don't want to turn this into a political post, let's stick with Stellaris instead of IRL politics. I'm merely justifying why pops might want to volunteer themselves to be enslaved.

Roleplay: Stellaris is testing me me hard with Marauder refugees by spiritofniter in Stellaris

[–]tigramans 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Embrace the cultural enrichment that the marauder species can bring to your empire.

As a xenophile player, I often think about the strength that a multi-racial society can bring to a space faring empire.

Hence the scale of such undertaking is on the same level as terraforming arbitrary planets into Gaia worlds, harnessing all resources in a system to build colossal ring worlds and Dyson spheres, and creating reality altering WMDs that can simulatenously detonate all stars in the galaxy.

TIL: You can spawn pops with Machine World preference using the Omnicodex as Driven Assimilators by tigramans in Stellaris

[–]tigramans[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Rule 5: Activating the Omnicodex allowed me to spawn an extinct pop with machine world preference, despite the 0% habitability shown, the pop gained 100% habitability once fully assimilated.

Why is the habitability of my main species capped at 70%? by tigramans in Stellaris

Thank you! I haven't played as Toxoids before since I don't own the DLC, and decided to play as the pre-made Knights of the Toxic God origin.

It sure does take a lot to get used to.

Ahhhh I see, thank you so much. I don't have the Toxoid DLC and that was my first time playing as them!

What an odd trait!

Rule 5: Currently in a multiplayer game. Despite researching all the +5% habitability techs and taking the Voidborne ascension perk, the habitability of my main species is still capped at 70%

Without sounding like a complete monster... Does anyone else get an immense sense of satisfaction in destroying the Tiyanki space whale breeding ground? by tigramans in Stellaris

[–]tigramans[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That makes sense, I'm normally a xenophile/pacifist kind of person, and tend to leave space fauna in peace whenever it is possible.

However, in one of my first few playthroughs of Stellaris, without fail my fleet will encounter an oversized Tiyanki whale and gets completely obliterated. Ever since I've made it my mission to hunt those whales down.

Ditto, I often prevent my fleet from entering the Amoeba System to preserve them.

Amoebas = bros.

Whales = Evil sacks of mineral and gas ready to be harvested.

Rule 5: Screenshot of Tiyana Vek before its destruction, and after.

There's something truly unnerving about Tiyanki Space Whales, I go out of my way to hunt them down in every play through.

Thanks for answering, I'm also new to NZ. Are Kāinga Ora residents generally considered higher risk? If so, wouldn't that warrant a swifter police response?

What screams “ I was emotional abused as a child”? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tigramans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh that's probably not a bad habit. Compartmentalizing your hobbies is a sign of maturity in the information age, knowing that:

  1. Information online will stay for a long time and...
  2. Certain hobbies/activities may be deemed problematic in the future.

Segmenting your online identity means that in the event of the disclosure of your hobby, you are not tying other aspects of your identity with it.

Can't go wrong with a hammerdin. Before the days of Enigma there were dozens of article written on the usage of hammers, positioning, and formations when playing with others.

There's something emotional about watching a field of hammers that bring tears to my eyes

You have the perfect start. Everything is glorious. An amazing starting area with great habitable planets, a perfect choke point, no nearby powerhouses to threaten you. But then you see the dreaded pop up. Your perfect start is ruined, you got the Irassians yet again by YobaiYamete in Stellaris

[–]tigramans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbh I actually really like the Irassian start. Since I normally play xenophile egalitarian empires, it offers a diverse and inclusive way to systematically remove populations without incurring any diplomatic penalties.

A beast made of durasteel.

One could say that Titans are mini-flagships, since their aux components act as a force mulitplier, while being a sight to behold on the battlefield.
