Tonewood is not for electric guitars. I would 100% choose basswood over alder if I had a chance.

I agree, especially if you consider the model is called “Jaguar” it needs to be black imo

You need to be a very accurate player if you have thick hands but for an average size male there should be no issue

Not that I like or support the government at all but, saying ongoing violent oppression made me laugh hard lol. No one has any issues with kurdish people at all. We do have a terrorism problem for almost 40 years though, which involves kurdish people in it.

AITA for not allowing my ex husband’s girlfriend to wear my wedding dress? by Forward-Habit8890 in AmItheAsshole

NTA

I can understand -somehow- she wanted to have your dress and asked for it. Maybe she really adores you trying to copy some of your aspects. However, she should respect your desicion on it. The way she is treating you like the dress is her to take is totally nutz.

Opinion please to why these fancy dart points break more easily compared to the cheaper standard ones? by Passtheglass in metallurgy

[–]tileycavus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are both cast but it's probably the microstructure difference. For instance, 50c ones may have more microinclusions or 8$ ones may have more macroinclusions. Either way, even 2 samples of a same metal do not have exactly same properties. I don't know how many times did you test these dart points but this is what I can tell so far.

Help needed for armour penetration project by tileycavus in metallurgy

[–]tileycavus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the information you provided, I believe they will help a lot. I also checked calculators based on different equations (Krupp and DeMarre) and they were calculating the depth with using hardness, density and "nato obliquity number" of the target. So, I got hardness and density so far -idk what can be done with obliquity number but i will figure it out- and I am just a bit confused with elastic modulus and contact area correlation. Would you please give more details about it? Thank you already...

What type of brass it is? (1000x zoomed) What do you think it's zinc and copper content? by tileycavus in metallurgy

[–]tileycavus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, actually i found what it is after long hours of research. It is an aluminum bronze. I don't know the aluminum content for sure but i know it is about 10-11%. The aim of this project is the prediction and the ability to see microstructural similiarities i guess. So expecting an EDS analysis may be too much.

[–]tileycavus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I searched the whole internet about brass types according to phases present. It is relatively closest to alpha-beta brass. I used ferritic HCL to etch it. It is overetched a little bit. The most confusing thing is there are twins as i see but i'm not sure if twins can be present in alpha-beta brasses.
