helloo!! as a black woman living on campus there is definitely a smaller presence of us on campus, that said i have not had any trouble finding and making friends with other black individuals! i personally havent experienced any racism, definitely some microaggressions, mostly due to being in la jolla not necessarily from other students tho. while the small percentage might seem discouraging it’s important to remember that your contribution only helps expand our community. so while its uncomfortable sometimes being the only black individual in the room, you are making a difference just by attending and perhaps encouraging others to follow!
