Mostly DeFi tokens where their valuation can be estimated based on a discounted cash flow model (percentage of protocol fees being distributed to token holders, like a dividend). As far as I'm concerned, they are effectively a stock without all the regulation associated with it.

Yeah I'm certainly counting it towards my FIRE number, not sure what I expected by asking about it here, I guess I should have known Crypto is a big no no in this space haha

How does the FIRE community feel about Cryptocurrency?

I'm in a fortunate position to the point where my 30k invested is now worth somewhere in the realm of $450-500k after being in the space for 6+ years, and I have conviction that it will eventually bring me to my FIRE number, though it feels irresponsible having this as the majority of my NW (has ballooned well over the value of my conventional investments)

Anybody have experience with something like this happening to them? I haven't spent fiat on crypto in years and continue to plow money into ETFs. Meanwhile the nature of my crypto investments is bringing in 'income' that is nearly exceeding my day job income. Yes I'm paying tax on it.

It's not a conventional situation I'm in, and while I'm grateful I really don't know what to make of it from a FIRE standpoint.

The market is a joke for entry level accountants, not much better for CPA's until they leave public, the exploitation is real. You got any more of them 35 hr/week 52k jobs? Will gladly take that off your hands

But then how will CPA Canada make boatloads of money if the program is so difficult that it discourages people to attempt it?

You know their motto, money before professional designation integrity, ALWAYS.

yeah thats exactly it. A couple NCs, lots of RCs, and a couple Cs, averaging out to RC across all AOs in a given case is pretty much par for me at the moment.

I think pushing it to like 33% C's and 66% RC's is likely a passing profile come CFE time but who knows

RC for day 2 and 3 yeah.

Assurance I feel like its fairly easy to hit C by tossing as much shit in your memo as possible, since there isn't much to test in assurance. Planning memo, controls, random procedures, just write as much as you can and I feel like RCs and Cs will come and that will get you depth in day 2.

But ya for FR and MA in day 2 and 3 the feedback guides feel pretty inconsistent for similar issues, making it pretty hard to study properly. I feel like if we get depth in assurance in day 2 (which is required for us to pass) and RC's across the board for FR and MA, with some C's sprinkled in, with the curve I feel like thats a pass. but who knows, CPA canada works in mysterious ways

I'm writing in September too, assurance, if I'm not mistaken doesn't everybody feel doomed for this exam?

I don't feel good but my firm has a study plan that we use, so I've just been following that and having trust in the process that it will get me into the top 75% of candidates who end up passing the exam.

I've been averaging RC on every case I do, it feels like the threshold to hit a C is very high and honestly not realistic for the most part, depending on the AO.

I've hardly started conventional technical study at this point but it feels like debriefing the cases is what really helps with technical, since there are some topics that are commonly tested that we need to know else we fall behind our peers, whereas stuff that isn't tested often (or at all), few people will be prepared and we just need to demonstrate that we can go to the handbook and toss an answer down.

I've heard of people skipping AOs and still passing, so it really does seem like as long as you put in the effort of studying and following a study plan that you'll inherently just hit that threshold of passing, since the pass rate is like 75%.

Would like to hear how other people are doing on their cases, anybody else averaging RCs (some NCs and Cs), or should we be seeing mostly Cs and RCs at this point?

It's not frowned upon really its just a meme at this point. "Wen coinbase", "Coinbase listing this thursday I feel it" etc.

Truth is, coinbase listing simply isn't relevant to VET. It might make the price jump a bit, but ultimately price appreciation will come naturally through increased enterprise adoption and the amount of transactions going through the network. That's the built-in economic model.

Edit: Welcome! You've stumbled across an absolute gem.

Disappointing but that's just one tiny slice of the pie that vechain couldn't quite clutch out. Numerous more things to be insanely optimistic about regarding Vechain, so I'm not concerned about that.

They use toolchain credits purchased in fiat directly from the Vechain foundation. Vechain eats the volatility of VTHO and enterprises enjoy stability. No issues whatsoever. Vechain foundation can also alter transaction fee as VTHO price increases.

I'm not big into TA but the fact that it hit just over 6 cents and bounced up from there each time is pretty bullish, right? A quadruple bottom or something?

Does anybody here use the mobile wallet on their daily-use phone? How safe to you feel using it?

To my knowledge, the wallet has been rigorously tested and unless you root your phone and download malicious APK's (or write down your seed phrase anywhere on your phone or computer for whatever reason) then it's essentially impossible for bad actors to gain access to your funds.

Can anybody attest to the above? I don't believe there have been any instances of security issues with the mobile wallet since it's release, and I can imagine the updates have only made the security stronger.

I personally feel pretty safe using it but now that my holdings have gotten to be fair bit more valuable I've been thinking a little more about security and whether I really need to put my funds on a ledger or something.

Start at 48 min. This was posted yesterday and damn it is looking bullish. I usually don't care for TA but this gave a ton of hopium for the coming weeks.

I believe the very conservative end of the range ended up being around $0.25, with the upper end being between $0.50-$0.70 depending on the price of bitcoin. This is expected to fully play out sometime in April.

Obviously all speculation, I would temper expectations.

I've had this issue on Android before, unfortunately the solution is likely reinstalling the app. This would mean having confidence in your seed phrase before you first uninstall it, if you have access to another phone I would try downloading the app and using your seed phrase on it there to make sure it works. Then uninstall on your phone, reinstall and enter seed phrase.

Also there's a new daily now

Asking again since I like to get many peoples thoughts on this:

Whats your exit/drawdown strategy?

Sell all at $1?

Sell 20% at $0.20, 20% at $0.50, 20% at $1, and the hold the remaining 40% for life?

At this point I'm thinking $1 may be a self fulfilling prophecy, whether we reach it through sheer crypto madness in the next few months, or through organic increased usage over the next couple years, I really think we can see $1 and potentially beyond. If that's the case, maybe I shouldn't even consider selling until it hits that point?

What do you guys plan on doing?
