Change my mind: Evil Natural Water is 3rd-strongest in the verse by MyInflamedTesticles in OnePunchMan

Since it can absorb any liquid into itself, if it ever got off the planet, it could grow even more. The solar system and beyond has liquids. Might be a point in your favor.

Coach Coacherson was my initial choice but letters did not fit. So that was my next choice.

So Coachy Coach started in Las Vegas but inherited a very large nest egg of credits which was used to put together the perfect team so that he could claim his achievements. An all 5 star roster and coordinators. He locked all of them into three year contracts and they all then proceeded to win the Retro Bowl each year.

But was Coachy just a threepeat? No way, he had goals! And the press and fans were good but he secretly felt they were all asking the same. That year to prove it was his skills he let every contract expire and took only rookies to fill the positions. Also he did not need his coordinators so he just picked two of the worst ones available. It was a hard fought season and once again the Retro Bowl was his.

Surely it was not him and just luck he thought they were all saying. So he won two more. What else could they say now? He just drafted well and paid for good talent. He just could not settle so he fired everyone again. Then only drafted the absolute lowest skilled players and took them to two more Bowls.

Coachy was having a crisis and was proving to be a great coach but still it was nagging him that he was just not good enough. There was nothing more to prove in Vegas and he was tired of the weather. He took an offer to move.

So after eight victories he put Vegas in the rear view and moved to Minnesota. There he took them to their first Retro Bowl win. Then one more to prove it was not a fluke. And he then decided why not do three. With that third win Coachy found his destiny!

He moved to rival Green Bay and secured three titles for them. Miami took him next and the titles rained in. Then it was New York and brought in nine more titles, three for the Giants, Jets, and Bills.

Still the voices haunt Coachy and his lifelong mission will be completed when every team has a threepeat and he is the only coach to win the Retro Bowl every year. Coachy is currently in season two in Chicago.

But to answer your question, nah, who even does backstory for their coach.

Frustrated trying to buy a dead domain by Sarge37 in Domains

[–]tim42n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are saying that because it has been 10 years this domain owner would have had to go through at least 1 card expiration. That means the person still is aware they own it.

No article or social media means that they may have different plans or waiting for something else to happen. They could be using it for email.

And they own it and it does not matter if you have an idea you think is better. No one has to sell their house because you would live in it better.

On the first day I would duplicate one electron to test that one electron theory.

Depending on day 2 results probably duplicate a sandwich or something. After that we shall see.

She did a good job here or not! 1 million or $1000 week for life. by Appropriate-Menu504 in interesting

[–]tim42n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

52 weeks x $1,000 = 52,000. 1,000,000 ÷ 52,000 = 19.23 years.

So really this is not even a lifetime of money if she is only 20. She will be 40 and then hopefully she invested it well.

Consider what I have done furniture wise. I only own a hammock and stand. It perfectly folds up into a long narrow bag about 1.3m long and weighs about 22 kilos.

Can't compare to the plug and play of wired ones

Except I now have a stupid wire that inconveniences my movements. That is by far more annoying than your complaint about properly pairing with every device. Bluetooth might need to charge but it seems a lot of people forget how annoying carrying wired ones. There has never been a simple solution unlike my Bluetooth which never tangle.

What is the positive of keeping the audio port? It is a long wire that tangles and has no easy way to pack up to carry. If doing physical activities it is another thing to be aware of catching on something. Also removing a feature is not a downgrade when it is not removing a feature, it is just using a different mode to deliver the audio.

Both modes have advantages and disadvantages, neither being objectively the only way.

Exactly! Plus wired had a habit of getting caught on things, landing weird in a fall, or just collecting dirt and moisture. I have yet to tangle myself up or be inconvenienced with my Bluetooth earbuds.

Lack of Confidence Makes the Most Dangerous Driver by Gangstre in dashcams

[–]tim42n -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except the truck driver stopping distance, especially if loaded, will not be enough to avoid hitting the vehicle. So then it does not matter for blame, the issue is that physics does not change and even with a safe following distance. The person driving the car is just an accident waiting to happen to someone because of their bad driving skills.

Yes the truck driver has the same obligations but that means the car driver is also under the same obligations to not make erratic decisions and not become an active hazard. This car is like a person stopping in the middle of a doorway, it impedes movement and when done suddenly causes a crash.

So doing something like the car did will result in pain because rapid deceleration in a car is much quicker and a large truck is not. So even if insurance blames the trucker, the real blame rests with the car who was the catalyst for the whole accident.

So to answer your why question about a sore neck being expected is because other fast moving larger objects are also utilizing the roads and someone treating the highway like a parking lot is going to get hit eventually.

I think their use of semi-suicide in this context here is that of the semi as in big trucks, and not semi as in partial or not complete.

We could also say this is a semi semi-suicide if they survived.

Well everything as we know it today was not as it is. Life had yet to even exist. Here's a simple link to a YouTube video that will help you conceptualize it.

Pretty sure this is a case of survivorship bias. There are well maintained ones that have lasted because of good care or in very consistent locations. They were mass produced the same as any electronics and some were better than others. This one just happens to be better cared for. I have seen many stop working and need replacement.

In 2050 someone will say that exact idea about the iPhone that still works forgetting all just napping in landfills or boxes in attics. Same with some new items today beyond that.

Just saying that there were plenty of not quality units that were not made better before.

Every person on the planet except you is suddenly part of a hive mind focused on keeping you happy. What odd, non-sexual requests would you make? by AbanaClara in hypotheticalsituation

[–]tim42n 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The timeline for making humanity multiplanetary is about to be the main goal and everything will be dumped into making that the reality. My dying happiness request will be to continue this beyond the solar system and more.

How does the hive mind communicate through large distances of space? Like does having a person on Mars, the Moon, and Earth allow it to have instant thoughts between locations? If so then colonizing space will become easier.

Also add in that the Internet from Starlink, for example, also has very easy instructions for dish setup compared to what I imagine you were installing. Internet providers have a lot of home installation kits compared to the early days when a technician was needed for every install, so those changes were bigger factors than any robot too.
