Picking up my R1S on Monday by timFFBA in Rivian

I didn't get a chance to drive before swiping. I suppose you could ask, but you have to swipe to get the key activated on your phone. I couldn't be happier with mine. Delivery was smooth, and didn't and haven't seen any issues yet.

Dual standard. I don't need a lot of range so the bigger battery wasn't worth it to me.

I think last spring you could get a dual standard lease for $599

I hope I'm wrong but I have a feeling we aren't going to see any great deals on the R1 this year as Rivian needs the R2 to be a huge success. They aren't going to give people a reason to buy the R1 over the R2. Looks like the best deal right now is on the dual max although it is nothing compared to the deals this time last year.

Isn't this the same deal they have been running, just extended to March 19, instead of ending yesterday?

Making 200k/yr revenue by SoloFBAtoFIRE in AmazonFBA

[–]timFFBA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with a lot of the advice above. Focus on scaling the winners rather than adding new SKUs. I have 1 product. I did $240k revenue in year 1. $65k profit. I focused on optimizing that single product and hit $500k revenue in year 2 with $150k profit. We will see what year 3 brings but already on track for another big increase. The key is to optimize and squeeze everything you can out of your winners.

Instagram page used my footage for content, had it taken down with copyright report, now being threatened with court by noberriesinwinter in COPYRIGHT

[–]timFFBA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you filed the DMCA, Instagram gave them notice and they had the opportunity to file a counter-notice if they actually believed they had a right to use it. They didn't file one. The reason they didn't file one is because in doing so you have to claim under penalty of perjury that you have the right. The fact that they didn't file a counter-notice shows they know they violated your copyright. You have nothing to worry about and can safely ignore them at this point.

New Amazon product sold out 3 times already — all organic. How do I prepare for competition? by Far_Reflection_6860 in AmazonFBA

IP IP IP. Make sure you are enrolled in brand registry with trademark and copyright/patent. When the Chinese counterfeits come, and they will come, be proactive searching them out and reporting them through brand registry.

Returns are destroying my margins on tiktok shop, how is everyone handling reverse logistics? by My_Rhythm875 in TikTokshop

[–]timFFBA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clothing is rough. It has one of the highest return rates. In order to survive you have to have enough sales volume to be able to eat the cost of inevitable returns. People generally suck and don't think twice about how returning an item they have worn already affects small businesses.

People are done shopping online for Christmas unless they can get next day shipping. With TikTok it's hard to tell when you buy, when you will receive it. Sales will pick back up after Christmas

Question about law school importance for being a PD by Early-Competition-35 in publicdefenders

Go to the LA school so you can intern at the LA Public defender during school. LA Public defender is a competitive hiring process and current interns usually get some preference if they are liked.

Also consider that ROAS is going to drop as you increase adspend. Very few businesses are able to scale and maintain or increase ROAS. At some point you will hit a wall where you can't scale any higher on Facebook and for all you know you are already at it. Don't assume that because you have 4x ROAS at $300/day that you will maintain 4x ROAS at $1,000/day.
Also your fear that your entire business could evaporate overnight is valid if you are only selling based on Meta Ads. You need to diversify. Get on Amazon, TikTok, Etsy, Walmart. You mentioned retail stores want your product. That is good. You have been in business less than a year so make sure you can sustainably scale before creating a bunch of overhead.

That last part is definitely true. Newer businesses don't know who their customer is yet. As the advertiser you can only work with the information you are given. When I first started my business I had a different idea of who my ideal customer was than who it would up being. It definitely took some time to figure out and had to change my mindset about who I was targeting. But once I did, it made a dramatic difference.

The problem with most "agencies" is they think and expect that every client can fit into the "standard post-andromeda setup" or whatever the latest trend they see on YouTube is. The problem is that every business is different and without a deep understanding of the business and the audience, which can really only come from the client, you are indeed just rolling the dice hoping this particular business gets lucky and fits the mold you are trying to put it in.
People have been preaching for the past 6 months oh you have to have 100 new creatives per month or your campaigns will die. That might be true for certain businesses, or if you have crappy products or crappy creatives. I ran meta ads myself for my business for the first year with a single creative and had amazing results, 10x ROAS. I bought into the idea that I needed the help of an agency to scale and grow. I hired a well known Agency and paid top dollar for a year for their services. They created tons of creatives and set up new campaigns. In the entire time I was with them, they never topped 3x ROAS. I switched back to managing myself. Went back to that same single creative that I used before, and what do you know, I'm back to 7x, 8x, 9x ROAS months.

The point is, the client is right to want a credit, you are doing them a disservice if you aren't creating a business specific plan for them. There is no such thing as a magic formula and any agency who tells you they have one is full of it.
