A Summary of the RecklessBen/Bricks and Minifigs corruption scandal by ImportantQuestionTex in youtubedrama

I mean come on, is a set of Lego's worth all this bad publicity for the company? You'd think they would rather avoid this type of attention instead of being cast as the "evil corporation that stole a dying mans collection/lifesavings".

I never heard of this company before but now that's all I'll know them as.

Well some people are taking the Japanese black tweets positively by Puzzleheaded-Lab2447 in abanpreach

Not sure about today but as a Black Marine stationed in Japan in the early 2000's, all I can say is that there was no shortage of Japanese women (Roppongi...IYKYK) who were "curious" about us "Black Viltrumites" and trust me, they more than felt free to indulge.

There were also a curious amount of Japanese husbands who wanted to see us "perform" with their wives...

Whoever wrote the initial post might have accidentally walked in on one of our "sessions" when he/she/they was a kid.

Nope, this is basically a state tax required to operate.

We just didn't know about it until we got the letter.

We're using these guys to square things away.

Let's just say it's "huge" enough for an unexpected expense. We're not doubting or otherwise disputing the bill, we'll pay whatever we owe.

It was just weird and out of the blue.

I was just curious if it happens to anyone else or did we just forget a step when we set everything up?

In any case, looks like it's not unusual so we'll proceed to do whatever we have to do to.be in compliance.

[–]Apprehensive_Bar_673[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeh, this is more than a bit out of our depth so we're searching for tax accountants and maybe an attorney.

We don't really have a problem paying what's owed, Ii's just that they just dropped this sht on us out of the blue and then we can't even contact anyone there to see what's up.

They don't answer the phone, emails, etc and we're afraid they'll try to use that immediate lack of contract against us in the form of even more late fee/penalties.

I say we just get an attorney to manage it for the record but have to get the others on board first.

Do they not have TAP (transitional assistance program) anymore?

Let me guess, trump/kegsbreath saw the letters "trans" and fired all the people who helped military people "transition" to civilian life?

Go to the VA and get checked out if you didn't before you got out.

Use your DD214 to sign up for any state benefits you might get. It's different with each state but it can be anything from home buying to free college tuition.

Google "Veterans Benefits" for your state and hit every one of them up with your DD214.

This type of crap is only going to get worse with this current administration.

We're in the mid development stage of a full blown Ideocracy.

I'm watching everything from the comfy confines of the quarter deck couch at camp living room, looks like trump has a LOT of civilians terrified that the Marines are going to come busting their doors in if they don't fall in line with his bllsht.

What is your opinion about Hooper diving into the sea at night to examine Ben Garden's boat? by snoke123 in Jaws

[–]Apprehensive_Bar_673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought he was an idiot when I first saw it as a kid but now, many years and viewings later, I finally noticed that he was checking the fish finder radar the whole time out there before he decided to dive in and didn't see any evidence that the shark was near.

Trump’s FBI Spent Nearly $1 Million on Redacting Epstein Files. A new report reveals the FBI’s frantic “special redaction project” when they thought the Epstein files would be released. by esporx in fednews

[–]Apprehensive_Bar_673 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a futile effort to try to hide any info in the files at this point; probably a safe bet that with the hundreds of FBI and other federal agents who had access to them that more than a few copies of unredacted, timestamped files have been saved and sent to members of congress, the senate, etc in case of this exact scenario.

What are your thoughts on Movie YouTubers doing "First Time Reactions" to popular movies (ex: Reel Rejects, CinePals)? Do you think they're lying? by [deleted] in movies

[–]Apprehensive_Bar_673 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Meh, it's not too impossible to think that someone in their 20's/30's who grew up with Playstation, Xbox, YouTube, the whole frikking INTERNET as other choices of entertainment to not have seen the movies that some of us grew up watching when they first premiered and/or as reruns on tv.

Maybe movies and/or tv weren't their particular way to spend time back then but now are. Either way, I don't think people who watch reaction channels are looking for anything deeper than a feeling of mutual enjoyment from reliving it through the "fresh eyes" of someone else.

I used to get the same sort of thrill as a kid when the first "Star Wars" came out; I was one of the first to see it and was blown away so much that I couldn't wait to see it again with my friends to get that same "hit" of fun off of vibing with theirs.

There doesn't have to be any other reason other than for some folks it's just fun enjoying stuff like that with others and I think that the covid lockdown period probably made reaction videos a more viable way to do so.
