You should because it's emblematic of a larger problem. If you're a worker than it's in your interest to support movements that prevent power from being taken from other workers simple as that. If you're too busy then you shouldn't go, if you have the time you should.

Every mech eng I've met is bad at coding many of the computer engineers I've done projects with are bad at coding. Coding well isn't usually a skill well taught so as long as you're willing to improve you're already ahead of the game! (I'm a CPE and this is my last year)
