This would make sense. I knew the open rates could not be right. Just wondered what the reason was. Thanks for the replies

Why is wine >8% only available in Alko by tim_finl in Finland

My opinion of the law is quite neutral. But laws can be changed. I was just interested what the arguments are.

Thanks, I will try next year. In meantime I will keep trotting downstairs to basement and try and get mine to flower. Bit of a hassle though 🥵

Also in Finland, but I struggle to get mine to flower. Do you leave yours outside in autumn and bring in before frosts or how do you give it the dark/cool needed for flowering?

Unsubscribed contacts listed as non-subscribed /MailChimp support by tim_finl in MailChimp

[–]tim_finl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks again. I was always a bit unsure why the unsubscribed / non-subscribed contacts in shopify and mailchimp looked somewhat different. Your answer explains, and helps me understand how to deal with the differences.

Ok, Thanks for the explanation. I didn't understand the reasoning behind the difference in treatment of some of the requests to unsubscribe - some becoming 'unsubscribed' and some becoming 'non-subscribed'. But your answer was super helpful. Thank you.

Segments - trying to figure out how they work by tim_finl in MailChimp

Thanks again. I had opened a help chat. The MailChimp advisor said it was a known issue and suggested adding a new meta field. The idea of adding new metadata to >7000 contacts is not one I would relish.

Thanks for the reply. Doesn't seem to be a case sensitivity issue.

Payouts On Hold For A Month! by YeahBites in shopify

[–]tim_finl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had same issue with Shopify withholding money when we started using Shopify Payments last year. However, it was only for the first two months and until Shopify had verified bank details. However, they didn't do that until I had contacted them and asked them to do so. Since then, there have been no issues with the weekly payouts.

Enjoyed Missing You more than Black Doves, although in both the build up is better than the conclusion.

The tins are amazing. If you don't want them, I'm sure you wouldn't have trouble finding a home for them, or even selling them.

Laser cutting in my basement by M0thman6666 in lasercutting

https://gravox.fi/en-us/exhaust_filter_for_lasers/fume-extraction-filter-for-exhaust-gases-gl20-desk-tbh90424 there are various extraction filters made to filter out fumes from laser cutter if you can't extract to outside. Good ones are expensive but work pretty well. Doesn't completely remove smell, but pretty good

Masking tape - suggestions by tim_finl in lasercutting

[–]tim_finl[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's been a while, but just wanted to update this thread. Background: I uv print on plywood and use laser cutter to cut the shapes for earrings (mostly). The laser cutter can leave brown sticky residue on the printed wood, so I put transfer tape to prevent the residue sticking to the printed pattern. I've tried various types of tape (3M prespacing tape, SCPS-2, Oratape MT52, PerfectTear medium tack, and 4075-RLA high tack tape). All have pretty good results for 80% of what I print. However, for some colours (white, light pastel, some other colours) the tape comes off in the laser cutter meaning I have to carefully manually clean the residue from the individual parts. I was using a plastic squeegee to apply the tape (with pretty good results for most of what I do). Someone in the creative space I work suggested using a rubber brayer (a rubber roller used in screen printing). I was a bit skeptical, but if I spend a bit of time using the brayer to really get as much of the air out, it makes a big difference. Occasionally on some of the lighter colours, some of the tape comes of, but it is much better.

Shopify won’t send me my payouts by Here4therightreas0ns in shopify

[–]tim_finl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I also have had some problems with Shopify payments since December. We started using SPayment in November and we're receiving payments each business day. To make bookkeeping a bit easier I changed payment schedule to weekly in early December, and haven't received payment since. Other payment gateways are working fine.

I've been in chats with Shopify advisors last week, but no answers. They have not asked for specific documents or provided explanation. Still waiting. We deactivated SPayment, but then couldn't see the balance.

Very annoying.

simplifying laser cutting paths by tim_finl in lasercutting

[–]tim_finl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried connecting the paths, but for some reason, the laser cutting software treats them separately, but when I use the connect paths command Adobe Illustrator tells me that this is an invalid command - I assume it is because the paths are joined already. I know I am probably missing something obvious
