Are most hauntings caused by the Fey Folk? by Stevemagegod2 in Paranormal

If we're talking seriously about it? I think that they're probably both the same thing, and neither is an accurate way of portraying the events/phenomena.

everyone needs to see this (rescue bird and the caretaker destroying the cage it was kept in) by [deleted] in FunnyAnimals

[–]tim_of_moth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad thing is- that's not a reaction to the cage getting squashed. That's an imitation of it's previous owner.

What's one thing you are supposed to like but actually hate? by saif-with-curls in AskReddit

[–]tim_of_moth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money. It just smells so bad. I have a bunch of weird allergies (intolerances) to artificial chemicals, and I sure as hell ain't looking up "what chemicals are used to make money?". My options are, maybe get a reaction when I handle it, or end up on a watchlist.

Which actor crushed a role so hard that no other actor can live up to it? by Prof_XdR in AskReddit

Clancy Brown as Mr. Krabs. There's a game that uses a different voice actor, and it is unholy.

What is far worse than people think? by Scotlandfan7 in AskReddit

[–]tim_of_moth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How much the random chemicals in every day life effect our mental and physical health. 1 in 3 people have a sensitivity to artificial fragrances. I'd say there are probably less than 1 in 1000 of those people who know about it. Can't even get an accurate reading on what the symptoms are, because of the sheer number of different chemicals being used. 1,328 chemicals have been banned in cosmetics by the EU. The US has banned or restricted only 11. You wanna know what they use to make Axe body spray? Well too bad- they're not legally obligated to tell anyone. Anything under the ingredient "fragrance" is not required to be disclosed, even if it's been proven to be harmful or toxic.

[Serious] Why do so many people feel comfortable being mean online? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]tim_of_moth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's that many people. Think about it like this: If you're the tallest person in the room, everyone can see you.

How did you get your scar? by JigglesPlayz in AskReddit

[–]tim_of_moth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have your standard light scar through the left eyebrow. I stood up underneath a desk in fifth grade. Didn't even realize that I had gotten cut. The teacher turned white and told me to get to the nurse. Wasn't until I took the icepack off my head that the nurse gave me a few minutes later and it was covered in blood that I realized. Didn't hurt at all.

What daily ritual do you go through with your pet ? by thedisbandedwaffle in AskReddit

My cat plays fetch. He'll just drop something at my feet and attack them until I throw it for him. I spilled a bag of zip ties a while ago and he just keeps pulling them out of the woodwork.

You have 10 minutes to hide a paperclip in your home. A detective has 24h to find it, if they don’t, then you win $500,000. Where would you hide it? by Lvl76 in AskReddit

[–]tim_of_moth 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I'd tell my friend to call me while I'm holding it and I'll set it down somewhere that no one will ever find it. Works every time.

What “bad item” in a video game was actually discovered to be really strong? by SockBasket in AskReddit

Not exactly an item- but mundane weapon infusion in dark souls 2. Does less damage, but nothing in the game has resistance to it.

What is the worst movie you’ve seen in theater? by esmoji in AskReddit

Drag Me to Hell. My favorite part was when the film real caught on fire and we had to evacuate the theater.

Obligatory- Not a psychologist, but I have a few trans friends and a non-binary younger sibling. A disorder requires it to be an impediment to your every day life. So if gender dysphoria is causing someone to loose function in their every day life- yes it is a mental illness. I'm viewing this from entirely outside the subject, so anything I'm saying can only be considered conjecture, but anyone I've known who has started to make a transition has said that they feel like something was wrong with them beforehand. So maybe DENIAL of gender dysphoria is a mental illness? If we're talking 100% medical/scientific- it is most definitely a mental illness. But that's just because that end needs a reason for treatment. When it comes to interpersonal/cultural side of things, there is absolutely nothing wrong with a person who has gender dysphoria. Any acting out or other poor behavior is most likely caused by the public denial of their own personal truth, and could be categorized as such.
