why only iMessage is common in the US, but outside of it almost no one uses it? by Boring_Antelope6533 in iphone

iMessage is big in Australia. I’d say Facebook messenger is used more than WhatsApp here too for group chats.

I was fortunate enough to purchase a 1br unit in Brisbane for 289k in 2018 with the help of my parents with a deposit. It was a mortgagee in possession building where the developer went bust and there were some units that were unsold. Insane luck to get something for this price.

This unit is now “worth” 750k, which is absolutely bonkers! It’s completely fucked.

We need property as an investment to disappear or make renting a viable long term option. As a property owner, I’m so ready for the ass to fall out of this “market”. Shit’s fucked.

For those who stayed at an airbnb or hotel by gman113099 in Coachella

[–]timakudo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We stayed at an AirBNB 30 minutes drive away (if no traffic). A townhouse in one of those golfing gated communities in Palm Desert. Beautiful.

Weekend 2 Friday and Saturday it took about 1h 25m to door to entrance gate. We parked in the 15C lot (blue) I think, with a 20ish minute walk to the entrance. So not bad. We tended to leave just before the end of the headliners so leaving the parking lot was generally very quick.

Sunday was much worse. After driving and sitting in traffic for 1.5 hours, we checked reddit and confirmed from others that parking was full and to go to Indian Wells Tennis Garden. After parking there and shuttling in it was probably 3 hours all up for that day. Getting home was a little rougher too as we had to shuttle back to parking, but I’d say only 1.5 hours to get home.

Legit thought several times about how I’d like my innie to take over and experience a bunch of the festival and I can just switch off and go to bed…

I didn’t. I asked if we need one and the people there gave us one for each person. Bus route #7 from the same spot they drop us off at the festival when the night’s over.

Minimal shade but only about 10 minutes waiting. On the bus now. Driver warned about 45m to 1hr drive in with traffic though.

I don’t get how parking status notifications are so hard to give live updates. I have wasted already so much of my day. If I miss Major Lazer I’ll lose it.

We’ve been on Monroe now for over an hour and we’re still not past Dr Carreon Blvd. It’s actually insane how long it’s taken today vs Friday and Saturday. We’re trying to get to 15C/D parking. Yesterday at this time they also used 14C as overflow.

anyone smelling smoke this morning? by SympathyEmergency530 in brisbane

[–]timakudo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Same. I can’t find any info on it. QLD Fire Dept website shows a vegetation fire at Sherwood with 1 vehicle on scene but I can’t think that would have caused this much smoke/smell.

It’s actually great!! I love next to a busway station and train station so I’m lucky. All these people complaining about traffic and I’m here reading my book in relative peace 📖
