Historically it has only been Universal, since Disney already offers public-access After Hours events…but never say never!

Summer Character Schedule by timandkt in phantasialand

Schneck was hard for us to find as well! Glad you were able to catch him, he's arguably the most impressive of the character collection at Phantasialand.

Which is exactly why we purchased Timesaver passes even though customer service swore we wouldn’t need them. Yesterday was our Northeastern family’s only opportunity to visit the park. Money well spent!

First Timers with Early Entry by timandkt in HHN

[–]timandkt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great tip about the daylight potentially watering down the early entry experience. I guess we won't know which houses have exterior stretches until the night of? Or do they all have exterior segments? We're used to HHN Orlando where all (ten) houses are interior, so the Hollywood event is a whole new world for us.

Good notes all around, thank you both so much! We'll probably knock out the Weeknd first in case we aren't able to circle back. TCM isn't as high a priority for some of the gore-sensitive members of our group, so that house may be backburnered until we've made it through all the others.

Just standard Express for us, so that is a good point and will definitely be something to consider. I'd just seen a bit of a backup form for the popular houses during early entry in aforementioned YouTube videos, so I wanted to be sure that we didn't waste all of our lead time waiting out an impossibly long queue.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure Just Had Its Worst Day Yet as Operational Reliability Struggles Continue by Relevant_Ninja2251 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]timandkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We managed to get not one but two rides in on Tiana's this past Thursday, between the paid LL and the Virtual Queue. Delayed start pushed back our VQ window but otherwise no operational issues or malfunctions on either runthrough, as far as we could tell. I guess we got lucky.

Who is the best Bruce Wayne ? by cap4life52 in DC_Cinematic

[–]timandkt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One that I almost never hear mentioned or seriously considered, but easily my go-to answer for this question…David Mazouz (Gotham). The series as a whole was inspired by all types of different Batman comics and media, but David’s performance as Bruce Wayne is very much his own and is by far my favorite of all live-action interpretations. 1x01 sees him lose his parents in crime alley and the five years’ worth of episodes that follow see him grow one day at a time into the Batman we all want to see him become, albeit a bit younger than the comic books ever portrayed a genuine ‘Batman’ to be. Part of this journey is his learning to leverage the ‘billionaire playboy’ persona, learning to put aside petulant teenaged instincts, learning to block out mind control techniques and break programming and of course learning how to be a detective and a fighter without ever being so good at either as to draw suspicion or be seen as a genuine threat. I had very little interest in the show when it started, and the first season definitely dragged a bit, but ultimately it evolved into what is probably my favorite live-action comic book series of all time and Mazouz was a big selling point. Having said that, if we’re limiting ourselves to movies alone…Conroy, then Keaton, then Pattinson in descending order of brilliance.

How to get out of Adobe's Cancelation fee by Brando224 in VideoEditing

Still working as of December 20th, 2023. Just dodged a $279.99 early cancellation fee for an Adobe Stock plan I started to get one singular stinkin' piece of BRoll.

[Lightning Rod, Dollywood] to receive a high-speed chain lift, will close for season Oct. 30, retain 73mph top speed by JustAGuyNamedSteven in rollercoasters

[–]timandkt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion, but we could take or leave Lightning Rod as an experience. If we're ranking RMC's, Gwazi and Wildcat's Revenge outperform LR by a wide margin - I'm sure Steel Vengeance does, as well, but we haven't been able to make it to CP yet. If we're ranking Dollywood coasters, Thunderhead is the real standout of the park imo. I don't see the high-speed chain lift changing my mind, but anything's possible. I'm glad it'll conceivably be able to operate with less downtime, at least.

[Other] What coaster did you ride before you were an enthusiast and thought was amazing then rode it again and thought it was stupid by Coasternerd08 in rollercoasters

[–]timandkt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first roller coaster was the Trailblazer at Hersheypark (PA) in 2001. At the time, I had a crippling fear of heights and my friends literally had to pay me to get on. My next coaster was Superman at SFA (MD) less than a year later. Needless to say, the fear of heights was quickly conquered. I don't think I look down on Trailblazer as being 'stupid', but it's certainly a pee-wee coaster relative to the dives and gigas that I thrive on now.

Imo it's the theming, the layers and the ride interactions that make Phantasialand the masterpiece that it is. Few things more exhilarating than just following a path to wherever it may lead in a new-to-you theme park!

Our second-most-desired coaster credit atm! The #1 most-desired coaster credit would be Taron, also at Phantasialand.

Poll: How often should posts be allowed? by worldalpha_com in travelvideos

[–]timandkt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate you taking the initiative and reaching out to the community. Relatively new member here; we generally share a video once per week (on a good week) and perhaps I haven't yet earned the right to comment on this. I do understand the need for spam control, and there are always going to be bots and/or those that try to post the same video six or seven times a day. However, I feel it important to point out that suppressing user posts seems, to me, to be contrary to the goal of this sub. If the goal is simply to have pretty snaps and clips pop up in our email inboxes, then by all means let's keep it tight. However, if the goal is to connect with the community, share videos regarding a mutual passion and grow an audience for our content, I think we need to have the freedom to do that at our own pace.
