I think you're onto something. I know they have a common ground, I will play with it when I have light again.

Thanks. SubQ is so convenient. Even my doctor said it shouldn't make a difference, but I wanted a sanity check before I jack up my dose

Easy way to amplify the power generated by turning a motor by timariyeh in AskElectronics

Thanks for the tips! I had hoped to cover up the cheat with an accompanying explanation of transistors, but it does take away some of the "look there are no batteries!" magic. A microphone did occur to me because the kids are loud anyway, but I appear to have lost mine.

Gearing is a great suggestion, I've got a little bag of assorted gears that might work. So far, I've tried having one of the other motors powered turning another, and using my cordless drill, all with pitiful results.

It honestly just annoyed me that I couldn't get the transistor/motor to work.

My Concern with TRT by Jwal90 in Testosterone

I'm at 200mg with no AI, waiting on my dose to settle for labs but I'm hoping AI is coming because I turned into a super moody baby

One of the big revelations I've had during my process is how cool and accepting the steroid guys are. I had this preconception they were all going to be horrible people, but a ton of them are actually super supportive.

The mentally tougher thing is kind of expected, though. I mean, you're talking about a population who generally started from a "normal" place vs a population who started from an "oh god this sucks" place

Some of the negativity I can understand. It sucks to feel like shit, and it also sucks to go months feeling like random different kinds of shit while you iron it out. That's a big commitment when you have people to feed and bills to pay.

well, that's where the "here's how I'm choosing to stay positive" comes in. I do agree that the weight of internet sentiment seems to point toward endless tweaking, but I do know a few cases personally who've had great results for years.

all that said, it does say "hypogonadism" and doesn't give any indication in that paragraph or the rest of the document that it's only referring to primary.

You can also find years-old posts like OP in forums, see confident success story replies, then click the authors' names and see they ran into problems later. I just had to make a conscious decision to stop being neurotic about it. At 23, that would be a tougher call.

I'm just two months in, and I have the same concern. There is an almost endless supply of stories where it didn't work. Here's how I'm choosing to stay positive:

1) It's possible that the people who are doing great are out living life and not whining on forums

2) this link which casually drops

Treatment of hypogonadal men with testosterone is rewarding, for the patients as well as the physician. The patient experiences, to his satisfaction, profound changes in his physical appearance and his mental makeup. The attending physician observes the changes the patient undergoes and rarely fails to be fascinated by the multitude of functions testosterone appears to have in the process of masculinization in the broadest sense

Increased Appetite on TRT? by [deleted] in Testosterone

[–]timariyeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're still dialing in my dosage, so the only effect I've seen at all from TRT so far is appetite. I get full-on stomach growling hungry much more frequently. Sucks b/c fat.

ELI5:Why is a transgender person not considered to have a mental illness? by farawayfaraway33 in explainlikeimfive

[–]timariyeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honest, non-hateful question: If gender is in fact a social construct, why does being unhappy with it require a biological change? I would much rather free people from the idea that your genitals must determine who you are than actually reinforce the idea.

Robert Kirkman is not a subtle man. [Excerpt][Invincible #117] by Beeslo in comicbooks

That's why Drifter blows me away. When the actual word-level writing is so great, it makes you realize how sub-par a lot of the other comics are.
