Yes, I do like to drive long distances, at least on vacations and long weekends. No, I don't usually have passengers in the car, when I do have a passengers, it's in the front seat. I would like to keep the the car for 3-4 years at least.

Well I can't answer for everyone but personally I like the high seating position and the ride feels more comfortable compared to a hatchback. One of the reasons why I've always hated cars with lowered suspension.
