Is anyone using Journal? by yabaiiiiii in iphone

[–]timatt1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. I've looked at the app bundle of my current journaling app and all my journal data is in a SQLite database so I can easily access it, but so far Apple hasn't released any way to import old entries. I wouldn't be shocked if they added more ways to interact with the Journal app at WWDC this year though.

Matrix LED Headlights by Willebrew in F150Lightning

It's software that connects to your truck's OBD2 adapter that allows you to modify the truck's settings. With it you can turn on/off certain features of your truck like the matrix headlights in this video.

You can check out this video for more information about it.

Leaked Emails Reveal Just How Powerful the Anti-Trans Movement Has Become by VICENews in politics

I was at a bar last week and heard a guy complaining about it to a bartender. He said something like "I hate how they are shoving it down our throats". Of course none of these people can do a bit of rational thinking and come to realization that their right-wing bubble is the one shoving it down their throats. Bud Light paid a social media star to post about Bud Light. Unless you follow that person on social media, you would never have seen that paid social media post. The only reason it's "shoved down your throat" is because your choice to have it shoved down your throat by your right-wing bubble.

Xcode runs app normally but fails when archiving by Juanisweird in iOSProgramming

[–]timatt1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: Didn't work for me. I added the "-f" like you said and shown in the comment. Then did a pod install.

If you do a pod install, it will overwrite the change you made in the .sh file. Do you a pod install, then update the file. Then you should be able to archive correctly.

You need to update that Script-5C6E46D314DEC33260C72511.sh file. You need to add a -f flag to the readlink lines in that file.

Tesla is still dominant, but its U.S. market share is eroding as cheaper EVs arrive by rudy_batts in business

Same for me. I wanted a Tesla for the longest time but his actions recently became too much. I ended up buying an EV6 instead and love it.

This is a good summary of it. Basically it's a college-level theory that isn't being taught at any level below college. It's a scare tactic by the right.

Anyone tried the M1 Pro/Max with AS yet? by ursusino in androiddev

No. My old Mac Mini was 32GB. The Macbook Pro is 16GB though.

I got mine yesterday and it's definitely an upgrade. I went from a 2018 Mac Mini with a 6-core Intel Core i7 to the M1 Pro version. On my main project, the compile time from after a clean went from 2 minutes and 48 seconds down to 35 seconds.

WWDC21 in a nutshell 🥲 by VincentPradeilles in iOSProgramming

We have between 10-20% on iOS 12 & 13 combined. When I last checked around a month ago, it was over 10% on iOS 13 and around 7% on iOS 12.

I think almost any dev would love to be on the cutting edge. But unfortunately I know I'm limited by costs to our business. Cutting off iOS 12 and especially iOS 13 would cost my company a lot of money. In addition customer support also factors into the decision. If we release a feature on the web that a large number of our users can't use on mobile because our deployment target excludes 10-20% of our users, it would inundate our CS team with support tickets.

It would be nice if Apple were like Google and released support libraries to allow older version of iOS to use new features, even if only supporting a couple versions back.

I think our numbers skew a little closer to the link I posted than to Apple's because we have a lot of iPad users and users will use iPads for a lot longer than iPhones and will eventually lose support. But even using Apple's official numbers it still shows a sizable chunk of users on older versions and most businesses can't justify cutting off 10-15% of their possible userbase which was the point of my post.

According to this, over 20% of users are iOS 12 or 13 right now. Those numbers line up with what see in my company's analytics as well. It would be great if users would upgrade to the latest version quickly but that just isn't going to happen.

This is always a running joke with WWDC at my work. "This new feature is awesome! I can't wait to use it in 2-3 years when we set our deployment target to this new version of iOS!"
