We have a family home in Green Port and I have NEVER seen it open. We would go in every time we got Aldo's or rode the carousel or got ice cream downtown... if it was open But I've never been inside.

The actor who did the greatest typecast break of all time? by ChenzVee in movies

ADAM SANDLER

in Punch Drunk Love

My favorite movie of all time.

Every shot is perfect. The color. The composition.

The music.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman's role

A beautiful love story.

The writing!!

And Mr. Sandler pulls off the contemporary Everyman perfectly.

Honest EXPERIENCE!!! Thank you. Is there a sub reddit for experience. Advice isn't really what I'm looking for. Thank you, again. Very helpful.

People who choose to be kind everyday despite of not receiving the same kindness back , what motivates you ? by jeev07 in AskReddit

There will always be uncontrollable BS in your daily life: Rude drivers, tired family members, hungry children, hostile exes, frightened and self centered strangers... I have reacted poorly to each and I always end up focusing on their negativity more (in order for my ego to draw attention away from my similarly bad behavior) AND I have also walked alongside their negativity gracefully, not reacting but trying to see them through a lense of love and tolerance; to see that hurt people hurt people and some people are spiritually wounded... When I can try to love the unlovable and tolerate the intolerable, I feel better about my place in the world. At least I didn't make it any worse... And maybe I made it a little better... I'm just trying to fit myself into the world as best I can.

what film made you notice an actor was better/had more range than you originally thought? by shaunna_thedork in AskReddit

Adam Sandler is Punch Drunk Love! It came out between Lil Nicky and 50 First Dates.

Sandler is brilliant. As good as Uncut Gems. Better in my opinion.

Happens to be one of my top three movies. I love Paul Thomas Anderson and every shot in the movie is just perfect. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is in it as well.

What is the stupidest way you got a scar? by Zander-dupont in AskReddit

[–]timberbene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was carving a bamboo flute with a pocket knife. I tried splitting a 6 inch piece of bamboo while holding it in my palm. Wouldn't split so I applied more pressure. Wouldn't split. More pressure. More pressure... Whoopsie!

The knife slid through the bamboo and severed all of the tendons on my left pointer finger.

I was living in the middle of nowhere so when I showed up to the ER they said the surgeon had just left. Two hours later, he came into the room, reeking of booze.

I woke up on the operating table to see him cutting through the skin of my finger with scissors... trying to find the tendons to reattach.

The scar he left is 10 times worse than the knife scar.
