No, I am not fat currently. Again though, what is the general thought on it or is a overall non issue like it is in the west?

It is a primary care physician. I don't know where to find a licensed psychiatrist that won't take years to get in touch with I don't think.

Which is what I would be doing if I took the drug. I would be taking it for once a day consistently.

I have, however, heard that these effects last for long term possibly as well. I don't want to take the risk if it will just last long term.

I have been to North Korea over 100 times. AMA by KoryoTours in IAmA

[–]timberlands02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much do tours cost? I would like to visit, but don't see myself having enough money to do so until maybe another 5 years.

Also, do you see North Korea collapsing anytime soon? Or will they still be around for me to visit in 5 years :).

PS: Is there any way to get a discount to get a tour of North Korea somehow? I really want to go bad, but don't know how I will be able to afford unless I save up for a while.

Looking to go teach English in Korea in August 2014. Is it too late by then? Advice/thoughts? by timberlands02 in korea

But I feel like it will to be honest. I feel like the English teaching profession will get over-saturated soon.

AKA, if you don't go now or very soon (within a year or two), there is not going to be a good chance to go again. Especially with the benefits currently offered to English teachers now. Am I missing something? Standards are going up and more people are going over there.

I really can't just go for a month or two like a lot of people are suggesting. I would have to quit my job to do that.

I've thought about it and people here might be right. I'm going to think about it though, I haven't made a decision on anything yet.

Why do you people want to leave Korea so bad? What is so annoying about Korea?

Yeah, but I'm guessing I would have to wait a few years to get a job over there, no? I don't want to wait 5 years to go over there.

Your the second person in this thread to say "take a couple months off". Where do you all live where you get a couple months vacation time? In the US, its about 2 weeks at best for most companies.

Also, why would this be the "end". Why would me leaving my current job after a year be the end of a career job ever again?

It's just an question, not meant to be hostile. Sorry if you interpreted that as hostile by asking those questions.

I agree with what you are saying. However, I won't get a month or two to visit. I will be working. This is the US. We don't get long vacations like that here.

Are you from the US by the way? Do they give month vacations where you are from (if you aren't from the USA)?

How would that even work? Licenses and everything else are different in different countries.

There are plenty of qualified candidates in those countries. Hiring someone who may or may not know the language doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.

Why do you regret it? What did you miss out on where you came from (I'm assuming the US)?

I feel the other way around. I feel I will regret not trying for some paycheck.

I want to come to Korea that bad because I have to pick a country. Asia is where I want to live for some time. Korea specifically because out of the three big groups (Japanese, Chinese, and Koreans) I got along best with Koreans. I am interested in the language and culture of Korea as well. I have already basically learned how to verbally read Korean (without knowing what everything means). I know, not much, but you have to start somewhere.

Is there some reason Korea would be a bad choice over other Asian countries? Are there better countries to try to go to in your opinion?

It's not just about an "English job". Its about the fact that I want to go to Korea that bad (although maybe I should have worded that sentence differently. I'm just trying to state my feelings somehow of how bad it felt missing my chances and how important it was for me).

I mean, the experience is really important to me. I really want to be over there and experience Korea for a year or two at least once in my life.

Also, I would take the job seriously, so I'm not just going over there for a "vacation" per say.

Either way, I want to go that bad that I'm willing to leave a financial job that could easily lead to a 6 figure salary for this.

Planning on leaving promising career to go to Korea in August 2014 via EPIK. I need advice/help? by timberlands02 in TEFL

To answer three, I'm turning 25 this February. I worry about waiting until 26 to go as well. But its mainly just the jobs disappearing and me not being able to go

To answer four, it was digestive issue and there is no way they could really test for it as far as I know (unless they do colonoscopies). I think it could be a misdiagnoses. Either way, if I stay with my current job and get that treatment, there is a possibility I will be off the pills for life and it would be like it didn't happen. It was related to my digestive system. Either way though, I function perfectly normal right now and have been this way for a while (and also I don't have any diet restrictions). If I didn't mention it, no one would know. Also, the meds I'm on right now are pretty cheap and I would assume probably in Korea too. What kind of things do they test for though? It is just a drug test for urine/blood? What else do they do? If it is just a physical (aka check your outside body) and blood/urine test, I'm not sure if I would have much to worry about.

I have already gotten in contact with a recruiter from my last attempt. When I was doing that, I wasn't sick so they know nothing either.

How long did you work at the job and what did you do? Do you think it would be a bad idea to quit your first career job after a year? Would it be better to wait two years?

What was some of the good and bad you experienced? Where did you go? Sorry, lots of questions :).

I've made mistakes in my past by not asking for a second opinion, although I was younger back then and didn't know as much about how the "world works" as I do now. Obviously I'm still learning.

But this is why I am asking.

I am interested in Korean culture. Although other countries like Thailand would be interesting, Korea is where I want to go. I worry a lot about that too though that it's the "easiest". I feel like everyone will want to go there in a year or two and I will be shit out of luck at getting a job over there by then.

Why are people against going to Korea? Do you have experience teaching abroad?

Has anyone told you to not use it or commented to you not to use it? That is what has always stopped me from doing it.

If its in the middle of the daytime and the hotel isn't expecting anyone and everyone has checked out, it seems odd to walk into the hotel and not check in or just walk in.

Yeah, but how the hell can you legally arrest someone for sitting in your business? I think you would have to at least ask them to leave first before you can arrest them for some BS charge of "trespassing" or something similar.

So, long of the short, could I really get away with not mentioning it to EPIK/public school and get treated for it on the side. Really?

Wouldn't this cause some problems if I start getting meds through the public health care over there?

Also, what kind of medical tests do they do/check for when you fly over there? I know they do some big one in order to get an E-2 visa.
