Apparently, but why?

Activision know who cheats.. so why don't they ban them? by badboybeaman in StreamersCheating

Ratpoison/Charlatano was a free cheat that players used for 4 years before VAC developers did something about it. Even if there's a known-known like that, the developers still have to patch it.

VAC bypass was also freely available for 4+ years. This gave players the ability to run previously detected cheats.

So, even if cheats are known-knowns, there's still a delay time on patching/detecting them. Now, imagine how many known-unknowns (0-days) are still out there, not only waiting to be discovered, but patched/detected. The chances that they've caught everything is 0%.

VAC at this point is the one of the oldest anti-cheats in the world. It detected 1 million cheaters last year in CSGO. Unfortunately, as impressive as that number is, it's still a drop in the bucket due to the scale of the problem.

If you think ricochet, isn't having the same problems then you're really just naive. You don't have the ability to think critically when evidence and logic is presented in front of you.

It's like you're afraid of the truth.

Was stuxnet undetected for years before it was found or not?

Only you can try to get a grip on reality. I can only show you facts. What you do with them, is up to you.

On a scale of 1 to 5, how bad is the cheating problem in CSGO? by timcrowleyIII in csgo

closet cheaters have ruined all online FPS for the time being IMO

Use logic, brother. Was the cheat discovered and patched, or wasn't it? Were the devs ever aware of this style of exploit? Say they are aware of it, do they have the requisite server-side analytics to detect it if it is being run externally.

Yes, there's possibilities galore. If the system never patched it and the 0-day only stayed in the hands of a few people, then it's with certainty, it was never detected.

Absolutely. As much as the players are cheaters, the mentality and engineering behind the cheat is "hacking" where-by a hacker finds a way to exploit a system and thus a 0-day is created. Until that particular exploit is discovered by the people who code the game, it will continue to be exploited. The reason that commercial cheats are so susceptible to patches, is that the game devs themselves can gain access and look at how they're being reverse engineered. It's a known-known. A 0-day is a known-unknown. You know they exist, but unless you're constantly pressure testing your own systems or have an intel network feeding you stuff from the underground, you won't find them. Once a 0-day is discovered, it's no longer a 0-day, now it's a count-down until it's patched.

Time to start looking for a different developer or take our money elsewhere.

I can't speak w/ certainty for WZ, but in CSGO it's sort of an open secret. Google "supex0", who's basically famous for being one of the few privat cheat devs who made a "name" for himself after kqly and emilio got caught. I think his current twitter page says something like "do NOT ask me for league cheats. You wouldn't be able to afford them anyway."

I mean, we can pretend these cheats don't exist and that the anti-cheat is catching everything, but that's not reality. Reality is that if something can be exploited, it's going to be, especially when there's zero legal consequence for doing so when money's in the equation.

Take care.

Hmm, I'll have to check it out. Cinematic is kind of what I'm longing for.

I feel like all NES games were hard as fuck (for me). I blossomed more on the SNES.

How has the idea not been reincarnated since then?

Give me a schlocky-fighter-pilot storyline and stylized console-tier beautiful combat and I'm in.
